Bruce Springsteen war gestern Abend mit seiner E Street Band in der 340.000 Einwohner zählenden Metropole Tampa, FL zu Gast. Der “Boss” spielte annähernd 3 Stunden und präsentierte 7 Tourpremieren. Darunter einige Klassiker wie “Prove it all Night”, “Does This Bus Stops At 82nd Street?”, “Talk To Me”, “Atlantic City”, “American Skin (41 Shots)”, “Radio Nowhere” und “Glory Days”.
Ausserdem begrüsste Bruce Springsteen beim letzten Song Clarence Clemons Sohn Jarred auf der Bühne.

Die zweite Show der “Wrecking Ball World Tour 2012″ führte Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band in die grösste Stadt des Bundesstaates North Carolina. Wie schon am Tag zuvor in Atlanta, GA, spielte der “Boss” vierundzwanzig Songs. Darunter “Because the Night” und als Zugabe “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)” aus dem Album “The Wild, the Innocent and the E-Street Shuffle” (1973). Das Konzert begann um 20.12 Uhr und endete um 22.54 Uhr.

Gestern Abend um 20.07 Uhr fiel der Startschuss für die “Wrecking Ball World Tour 2012″ in der Philips Arena, Atlanta, GA. Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band präsentierten 24 Songs und begeisterten die 20.000 Zuschauer in der ausverkauften Philips Arena unter anderem mit “Lonesome Day”, “Seeds, “Born to Run” und “10th Avenue Freeze Out”. Das Konzert endete um 22.43 Uhr.

Am 18. März 2012 beginnt die “Wrecking Ball World Tour 2012″ mit einer Show in der Philips Arena, Atlanta, GA. Das Rolling Stone Magazin stellte in einem Online Bericht die Frage, was wir uns von der anstehenden Tournee erwarten können.

• Eine durch das neue Album geprägte Tour
  2009 performte Bruce Springsteen fast nur alte Songs. Neues Material fiel frühzeitig aus dem Programm. 2012 werden die Shows deutlich vom neuen Album geprägt sein.
• Songs, die von den Bläsern getragen werden
  Bruce Springsteen kramte anlässlich der “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Show” das aus dem Jahre 1973 stammende Lied “E Street Shuffle” aus der Zauberkiste (wir berichteten hier).
  Es ist zu erwarten, dass Bruce Springsteen die Zuschauer mit bläserlastigen Songs wie “10th Avenue Freeze Out”, “Kitty’s Back” und “So Young And In Love” verwöhnen wird.
• Jake Clemons Aufstieg
  Clarence Clemons Neffe Jake hat während der Apollo Show alle überzeugt (wir berichteten hier).
  Er blies die Solis bei Badlands”, “The Promised Land” und “Thunder Road”. Jake ist ein Gewinn für die E Street Band.
• Ein Unbekannter auf der Bühne
  Während der Apollo Show wunderten sich viele über das unbekannte Gesicht an den Bongos. Everett Bradley war bereits mit Hall & Oates und Bon Jovi auf Tour. Möglicherweise wird er auch weiterhin die E Street Band verstärken.
• Eine Hommage an Clarence Clemons
  Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band huldigten mit “10th Avenue Freeze Out” dem verstorbenen Saxophonisten Clarence Clemons. Die Fans jubelten und Bruce Springsteen wird seinen langjährigen Weggefährten auf der “Wrecking Ball Tour” bestimmt nicht vergessen.
• Das Ende der Songwünsche
  Restless Nights”, “Like A Rolling Stone” und “Ramblin ‘Gamblin’ Man”. Auf der letzten Tour spielte Springsteen viele Songwünsche des Publikums. Es ist anzunehmen, dass dies auf der aktuellen Tour nicht mehr der Fall sein wird.

Springsteen gives music history lesson at SXSW
Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band closed out a powerful run at South By Southwest with a concert that was part political protest, part moving memorial and all rock `n’ roll.
Springsteen played a guest-packed socially conscious set, beginning and ending with tributes to Woody Guthrie, and heavy with songs from his new album, “Wrecking Ball,” a scathing look at America in the 21st century.
He noted how the economic crisis has “put people out of their homes, taken away their retirement and split this country down the middle,” before launching into the powerful new song “Jack of All Trades.”
He mostly let the music do the talking, however, bringing up reggae legend Jimmy Cliff to sing “The Harder They Come,” “Time Will Tell” and “Many Rivers to Cross” and Eric Burdon of The Animals to sing “We Gotta Get Out of This Place.”
The Boss took over Austin for 24 hours, making a surprise appearance at the Austin Music Awards to jam with Alejandro Escovedo and Joe Ely on Wednesday night, then delivering an often hilarious tour-de-force keynote speech Thursday afternoon that was one of the most anticipated events at the South By Southwest Music Conference and Festival this year.
He capped the evening with a special show that went nearly three hours at the Austin City Limits Live venue and served as a preview of his upcoming tour, which starts Sunday in Atlanta. He paid tribute to “old friends,” making an allusion to late saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who died last year. And he pulled Clemons‘ nephew and new E Street horn section member Jake Clemons down to the front of the stage to play solos several times. He even crowd surfed briefly.
“I can’t believe you’re not dancing yet,” Springsteen shouted early in the show while pointing out a section of sitting fans. “Get your asses out of those seats. This is a dance party!”
Along with new songs “Wrecking Ball,” “We Take Care of Our Own” and “Shackled and Drawn” from his 17th studio album, which debuted at No. 1 in 14 countries after release last week, Springsteen played a handful of old favorites. That included a scorching version of “The Ghost of Tom Joad” that featured a mind-bending solo by guest guitarist and social activist Tom Morello.
