Bruce Springsteen ist gestern in Austin, TX eingetroffen.
Er wird heute (15. März 2012 ab 12.00 Uhr CDT / 18.00 MEZ) die Abschlussrede der “South by Southwest Music and Media Conference” halten und am Abend ein Konzert mit der E Street Band im örtlichen “Moody Theater” spielen (wir berichteten hier, hier und hier).
Bereits gestern kam Bruce Springsteen als Gast beim Alejandro Escovedo Konzert im Moody Theatre auf die Bühne, um mit dem aus San Antonio, TX stammenden Künstler zwei Songs zu performen.

Bruce Springsteen makes surprise appearance at Austin Music Awards
Bruce Springsteen closed out the 30th annual Austin Music Awards at this year’s South by Southwest Music Conference by joining local legend Alejandro Escovedo for a handful of songs.
Escovedo kicked off his award-show performance with a couple new songs from his forthcoming studio album, „Big Station,“ which hits retailers this summer. The 90-minute set was full of guest appearances, including Amy Cook („Tender Heart“), Dan Dyer („Sensitive Boy“), Garland Jeffreys („Faith“) and Kid Congo (The Gun Club’s „Sex Beat“). Springsteen remembers Clemons in Rolling Stone
Clemons died last year. Springsteen intended to have Clemons on the new album, but says he passed on a recording session to check out his health and soon after had a stroke.
Springsteen went to Clemons‘ bedside. Clemons squeezed his hand when Springsteen spoke, but Clemons never regained consciousness.
After Clemons died, producer Ron Aniello took a live rendition of the concert staple „Land of Hopes and Dreams,“ separated Clemons‘ part and put it into a studio version.
Springsteen said: „When the solo section hit, Clarence’s sax filled the room. I cried.“ He said losing Clemons was „like losing the rain.“

Mit über 200.000 verkauften Exemplaren seines 17. Studioalbums „Wrecking Ball“, konnte Bruce Springsteen die englische Sängerin Adele von Platz 1. der amerikanischen Billboard Charts stossen.
„Wrecking Ball“ ist damit – nach „The River“ (1980), „Born in the USA“ (1984), „Tunnel of Love“ (1987), „The Rising“ (2002), „Devils & Dust“ (2005), „Magic“ (2007) und „Working on a Dream“ (2009) – das achte Nummer 1 Studioalbum in den Vereinigten Staaten. Ferner belegten die 5 LP-Box „Live 1975 – 1985“ (1986) sowie das „Greatest Hits“ Album aus dem Jahre 1995 den Spitzenplatz der US Billboard Album Charts.

Bruce Springsteens siebzehntes Studioalbum “Wrecking Ball” erschien am 2. März 2012 in Deutschland. Das Werk kann auf Amazon.de bzw. im Stonepony Fanshop bestellt werden. In Deutschland gibt es das Standard-Album (ohne Bonus Tracks), eine Special Edition (mit Bonus Tracks) sowie eine Doppel-Vinyl-LP. Ferner kann das Album im MP3 Format heruntergeladen werden.
The Gaslight Anthem kommen im Sommer 2012 für einige Konzerte nach Deutschland. Die aus New Brunswick in New Jersey stammende Rockformation wird in Bremen, Ulm, Münster, Kiel, Lüdinghausen und Grosspösna zu sehen sein.
