Bruce Springsteen ist gestern Nachmittag mit seiner E Street Band im altehrwürdigen “Carousel House”, Asbury Park, NJ aufgetreten. Während der 60minütigen Show spielte er einige Songs seines neuen Albums “The Promise”. Der Auftritt wurde mitgefilmt und soll schon bald auf Bruce Springsteens offizieller Webpräsenz zu sehen sein.

You better watch out – Springsteen is back in town
Christmas came early this year for fans of the Boss.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the historic Carousel House on the Asbury Park boardwalk Tuesday. The performance was being recorded for a webcast, according to the Springsteen fan website Backstreets, which held a contest to give away tickets to the event.
Among the approximately 60 lucky fans who gained entrance to the performance was Matt Milius of New Egypt. The Carousel House performance marked his 128th Springsteen show.
“It couldn’t be better” to have Springsteen back in town, said Milius, who attended nearly all of Springsteen’s annual holiday shows at Asbury Park’s Convention Hall in years past.
Asked how it felt to have Springsteen playing Asbury Park during the holiday season, Milius said, “It feels just right.”
Recent weeks have seen a flurry of activity from Springsteen: The Freehold-raised musician jammed with the local band Timepiece at Woody’s Roadside Tavern in Farmingdale on Nov. 11, released the deluxe box set “The Promise: The Darkness on the Edge of Town Story” on Nov. 16 and appeared on the talk show “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” that night.
For the most part, during both soundcheck and the early part of Tuesday’s performance, Springsteen and his band stuck to classic rarities from “The Promise,” including “Save My Love,” “Ain’t Good Enough For You,” “One Way Street” and “Outside Looking In.” – Quelle

Bruce Springsteen war am Dienstag in der “Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon” zu Gast, um die “Darkness Box” zu promoten. Der ‘Boss’ performte mit dem Late-Night-Talker “Whip My Hair” sowie mit der Hausband “Save My Love ” und “Because the Night” (wir berichteten hier).

Auch am zweiten Abend in Pittsburgh, PA präsentierten sich Bruce Springsteen, Joe Grushecky und The Houserockers in bester Spiellaune. Während der dreistündigen Show in der “Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall” performten die Musiker nicht nur Bruce Springsteens neuen Song “Save My Love”, sondern auch Elvis Presleys Hit “Burning Love” aus dem Jahre 1972.
Bruce Springsteen beendete das Konzert mit “Thunder Road” und den Worten “Joe told me to send you home with this one”.

Joe Grushecky und Bruce Springsteen gaben gestern Abend ein Konzert in der altehrwürdigen “Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall” in Pittsburgh, PA.
Anlässlich des 15-jährigen Jubiläum des Grushecky Albums “American Babylon” – das von Bruce Springsteen im Jahre 1995 produziert wurde – spielten die beiden Musiker einige Songs des Albums. Bruce eröffnete das Konzert mit “A Good Man is Hard to Find”, “For You” und “This Hard Land”. Anschliessend begrüsste er Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers. Zudem feierte “Save My Love” seine Live-Premiere.

Springsteen’s presence alone Thursday inside Pittsburgh’s 102-year-old military museum/concert hall electrified a crowd that chanted “Bruuuuce” early and often.Launching the show alone on stage in an untucked flannel shirt rolled up past the elbows, Springsteen said, “I’m gonna open for Joe tonight,” before setting sail with solo renditions of “A Good Man’s Hard to Find,” golden oldie “For You” and “This Hard Land”.
“I couldn’t ask for a better friend,” Grushecky said as Springsteen stood off stage watching the Houserockers rip first through the “American Babylon” title track and then “East Carson Street” before bringing Springsteen back on stage, where he would remain, starting with “We Will Get By.” Springsteen was animated all night, often slapping hands, mugging for cellphone photos and making eye contact with fans.
Springsteen and Grushecky, two brothers-in-arms, shrewdly picked a diverse set list from both their catalogues, with Springsteen cuts “Atlantic City,” “Adam Raised a Cain,” and a particularly powerful “Darkness on the Edge of Town” popping up in the show’s first half, soon followed by “Fire.”
Among the “American Babylon” picks were “Never Be Enough Time,” “Homestead” and “What Did You Do in the War,” which took on an added relevance given the concert’s setting.
The homestretch was filled with crowd-pleasers, like Grushecky’s blue-collar blaster, “Pumpin’ Iron, Sweatin’ Steel,” from his Iron City Houserockers days, and Springsteen‘s “Promised Land,” featuring the Boss playing harmonica with his guitar strapped behind his back.
