Bruce Springsteen schliesst neuen Vertrag mit der „Universal Music Publishing Group“

Bruce Springsteen hat mit der in Santa Monica, CA beheimateten „Universal Music Publishing Group“ einen neuen Verlagsvertrag geschlossen. Der Deal deckt Springsteens vergangene Arbeiten und zukünftige Projekte ab. Nun ist es „Universal“ möglich, sämtliche Songs des Künstlers weltweit zu vermarkten und einzelne Songs bzw. Alben für Streaming Anbieter freizugeben.

Bruce Springsteen has signed with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) to exclusively administer his entire catalog of songs and future projects, the first time a single publisher will represent his entire catalog worldwide.

With the agreement, UMPG will be responsible for developing creative and commercial opportunities for Springsteen’s song catalog consisting of multi-diamond and multi-platinum certified studio albums Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J., The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle, Born to Run, Darkness on the Edge of Town, The River, Born in the U.S.A., Tunnel of Love and The Rising, with songs including „Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,“ „Dancing in the Dark,“ „Badlands,“ „Thunder Road,“ „The Rising,“ „Working on a Dream“ and „Wrecking Ball.“

Along with his own recordings, Springsteen’s work has often been covered by other acclaimed artists, with credits including David Bowie’s „It’s Hard to be a Saint in the City,“ Natalie Cole’s „Pink Cadillac,“ Joan Jett’s „Light of Day,“ Mary J. Blige’s „American Skin (41 Shots),“ Manfred Mann’s Earth Band’s „Blinded by the Light,“ The Pointer Sisters‘ „Fire,“ Patti Smith’s „Because the Night,“ Rage Against the Machine’s „The Ghost of Tom Joad“ and Neil Young’s „My Hometown.“
