Bruce Springsteen wird am Donnerstag (15. März 2012) als Gastredner an der “South by Southwest Music and Media Conference” in Austin, TX teilnehmen (wir berichteten hier).
Das National Public Radio (NPR) wird die Rede Live und in voller Länge im Internet streamen. Beginn ist um 12.00 Uhr (CDT) / 18.00 Uhr (MEZ).

From our friends at NPR: Adding to its schedule of can’t-miss coverage and events, NPR Music will offer a live worldwide webcast and broadcast of Bruce Springsteen’s keynote from the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference and Festival, on Thursday, March 15. This is the first time a SXSW music keynote or conference session will be streamed to everyone, everywhere.
The entire event will be available at NPR Music, via the NPR Music iPhone and iPad apps and at sxsw.com. The NPR Music broadcast will also air on many public radio stations across the country, including WXPN Philadelphia and WFUV New York (check local listings). NPR Music critic Ann Powers will host a blog during the keynote, and take questions from audiences around the world. Tune in live, Thursday, March 15 at noon (CT)/1PM (ET).

Am Abend wird Bruce Springsteen mit der E Street Band ein Warm-Up Konzert im örtlichen “Moody Theater” spielen (wir berichteten hier). Tickets für dieses Konzert wird es nur für Konferenzteilnehmer geben. Das Konzert wird natürlich nicht im Internet zu sehen sein.

Bruce Springsteen ziert die März Ausgabe des amerikanischen Rolling Stone Magazins.
Im Heft findet man ein ausführliches Interview mit Jon Stewart (wir berichteten bereits hier). Bruce Springsteen spricht unter anderem über sein neues Album “Wrecking Ball” und den überraschenden Tod seines Freundes und langjährigen Bandkollegens Clarence Clemons.

Springsteen remembers Clemons in Rolling Stone
Bruce Springsteen tells Rolling Stone he shed tears when he heard Clarence Clemons’ saxophone on “Wrecking Ball.”
Clemons died last year. Springsteen intended to have Clemons on the new album, but says he passed on a recording session to check out his health and soon after had a stroke.
Springsteen went to Clemons’ bedside. Clemons squeezed his hand when Springsteen spoke, but Clemons never regained consciousness.
After Clemons died, producer Ron Aniello took a live rendition of the concert staple “Land of Hopes and Dreams,” separated Clemons’ part and put it into a studio version.
Springsteen said: “When the solo section hit, Clarence’s sax filled the room. I cried.” He said losing Clemons was “like losing the rain.”

Bruce Springsteen hat es doch geschafft.
Mit über 200.000 verkauften Exemplaren seines 17. Studioalbums “Wrecking Ball”, konnte Bruce Springsteen die englische Sängerin Adele von Platz 1. der amerikanischen Billboard Charts stossen.

“Wrecking Ball” ist damit – nach “The River” (1980), “Born in the USA” (1984), “Tunnel of Love” (1987), “The Rising” (2002), “Devils & Dust” (2005), “Magic” (2007) und “Working on a Dream” (2009) – das achte Nummer 1 Studioalbum in den Vereinigten Staaten. Ferner belegten die 5 LP-Box “Live 1975 – 1985″ (1986) sowie das “Greatest Hits” Album aus dem Jahre 1995 den Spitzenplatz der US Billboard Album Charts.

Bruce Springsteens siebzehntes Studioalbum “Wrecking Ball” wird nun auch in Holland, Schweden, Irland, Kroatien, Belgien und Norwegen auf Platz 1 der Album-Charts geführt.

In den Vereinigten Staaten werden die Chartplatzierungen in wenigen Stunden veröffentlicht. Doch in den USA schaffte es auch Bruce Springsteen – trotz 200.000 verkaufter Einheiten – nicht, die britische Pop- und Soul Sängerin Adele vom Thron zu stossen.

Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Wrecking Ball’ Trending to Debut at No. 2 on Billboard Charts
Even a new album by Bruce Springsteen may not be enough to toss Adele from the top of the Billboard album sales charts. The magazine reports that ‘Wrecking Ball‘ sold an impressive 200,000 copies in it’s first week of sales, but also that his tally is a few thousand fewer than Adele’s ’21.’
It’s too close to call at this point, so there’s hope for the Boss. It’s worth mentioning that the English singer’s album is going for her 24th week atop the charts, the first to do that since Prince & the Revolution’s ‘Purple Rain’ soundtrack in 1984 and 1985.
Springsteen topped Adele in her home country, however. ‘Wrecking Ball’ debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. selling 74K copies. It’s his ninth No. 1 studio album in the U.K., the first being 1984′s ‘Born in the U.S.A.’
The official chart numbers will be released on Wednesday. Springsteen is hoping for his 10th No. 1 album in the U.S., following 2009′s ‘Working on a Dream’ which sold over 224K copies during street week. Das Marktforschungsinstitut “Media Control” teilte heute (13. März 2012) mit, dass das siebzehnte Bruce Springsteen Album in Deutschland auf Platz 1 einsteigen wird. Auf Position zwei folgt die britische Sängerin Katie Melua mit “Secret Symphony”.

Bruce Springsteen war gestern mit seiner E Street Band in der Convention Hall in Asbury Park, NJ zu Gast. Am Nachmittag traf er sich mit seiner Band, um für den Tourauftakt am Samstag in Atlanta, GA zu proben.
Heute (13. März 2012) wird es möglicherweise in der Convention Hall eine Rehearsal Show für Fans geben.

Bruce Springsteen, E Street Band have private rehearsal in Asbury Park
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band gathered at Convention Hall in Asbury Park for a private rehearsal Monday afternoon before heading to Austin, Texas for a special show as part of SXSW on Thursday.
The first show of the Wrecking Ball Tour is Sunday in Atlanta.
Springsteen, who played the Apollo Theater in Harlem last Friday, arrived at Convention Hall at 1:45 p.m. and personally greeted the 50 fans who were waiting, signing autographs and shaking hands.
Bruce and the band only worked on a few songs including the cover “I Ain’t Got No Home” which was played at the March 23, 2009 rehearsal show at Convention Hall to start the “Working on a Dream Tour” in 2009.
Other songs rehearsed were “Long Walk Home,” “The Ghost of Tom Joad,” and “Vigilante Man.”
