Bruce Springsteen war heute (24. März 2013) in der bis zu 15.000 Zuschauer fassenden „Rod Laver Arena“, Melbourne zu Gast. Die Multifunktionsarena in der australischen Millionenmetropole wurde 1988 eröffnet und ist Austragungsort der „Australian Open“.

The Frontier Touring Company in association with Jacobsen International are proud to announce the first Australian tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in a decade. Confirmed to tour the East Coast of Australia in March 2013 with their ‘Wrecking Ball Tour’.
The Wrecking Ball world tour has to date stopped in 18 countries with over 80 shows including several of the longest performances of Springsteen’s career. The tour has earned universal acclaim being called „gigantic“ (Rolling Stone), „the stuff of legend“ (Irish Independent) and „the greatest live act in the world“ (Evening Herald).

Bruce Springsteen eröffnete das 92. Konzert der „Wrecking Ball Tour 2012 / 2013“ um 19.48 Uhr (Ortszeit) mit „Out in the Street“. Während der knapp dreistündigen Show wurden etliche Klassiker aus den 1970er und 1980er Jahren gespielt. Unter anderem begeisterte der „Boss“ seine Fangemeinde mit „Something in the Night“ (Darkness on the Edge of Town, 1978), „Johnny 99“ (Nebraska, 1982), „Seeds“ (Live 1975 – 1985) sowie einer knüppelharten Version seines Welthits „Born in the USA“ (veröffentlicht auf „Born in the USA, 1984).

Am 26. und 27. März 2013 stehen zwei weitere Konzerte in der „Rod Laver Arena“ auf dem Programm. Danach endet die Australien Tour 2013 mit zwei Auftritten (30. und 31. März 2013) am „Hanging Rock“ in Macedon.
