Infos zum neuen Album:

  • Bon Jovi is back with another tremendous rock album „The Circle“ which was produced by John Shanks, who also worked with Bon Jovi on Have A Nice Day and Lost Highway. The first single „We Weren’t Born To Follow“ is the fastest growing single in the band’s HISTORY, and the fastest growing ever on the Hot AC chart. Also included is the groundbreaking band documentary When We Were Beautiful. Filmed while the band was on its unprecedented Lost Highway world tour, this is the first intimate look at this legendary group. Unlike the usual band documentary, When We Were Beautiful reveals the inner workings and unique personalities that have made Bon Jovi one of the most successful rock groups of all time.
  • „It’s an interesting question to ask: Is that a fair dose of motivation or is that a chip on your shoulder?“ Jon Bon Jovi posed that question to himself, and it’s worth pondering. You might think that a man whose band has sold more than 120 million records and played before tens of millions of fans in the course of an illustrious 26-year career would be content to rest on his considerable laurels, at least for a while.
You might think that, but you’d be wrong, and the new Bon Jovi album, The Circle, provides irrefutable proof. As its title suggests, The Circle marks a powerful reassertion of Bon Jovi’s commitment to the hard-hitting, uplifting rock & roll that has been the band’s indelible signature since it began. The band share an abiding bond that informs and defines their music. It is a circle that remains unbroken.
„The album title,“ Bon Jovi explains, „has several meanings. Some may say that with this album we have come full circle. Others may see The Circle as never ending. I see it as very hard to get in to and even harder to get out of,“ the singer says with a laugh. Having had 5 studio records in this decade, there are songs on each record that represent the world around us. And while they don’t always like what they see, they try hard not to see the cup as half empty. From the new single „We Weren’t Born To Follow“ to the powerful „When We Were Beautiful,“ the songs are as uplifting and anthemic as anything Bon Jovi and Sambora have ever written.
Another reason for the anthemic sound of THE CIRCLE is the re-emergence of Richie Sambora. „This is meant to be a stadium, turn-the-guitars-back-up record, and that’s a testament to having Richie at my side,“ Jon says. „I can’t tell you how much that’s meant. With me and Richie, one and one makes three.
That flame burns at the heart of The Circle. „When We Were Beautiful“ shares its title with the superb Bon Jovi documentary by filmmaker Phil Griffin. Like the film, the song is atmospheric and haunting. It opens with a sense of crisis: „The world is cracked/The sky is torn.“ Jon Bon Jovi hears the song as a true departure for the band. „That’s a unique song,“ he says, „We’ve written hits, but this is something more, this is something different. I didn’t want to sugarcoat things. Those lyrics are factual. As a country and as people, we hit a wall. But the idea is to try to get back to `when we were beautiful.'“
The new studio album, The Circle, was produced by John Shanks, who also worked with the band on the two preceding Bon Jovi albums, Lost Highway (2007) and Have a Nice Day (2005). The album has an underlying positive theme that is apparent throughout the songs. Whether it’s questioning your vitality in „Fast Cars,“ or asking what the future holds in „Work for the Working Man,“ the songs are about the prospect of people having to find new directions in their lives. In these trying times every word relays the truth.
So The Circle, then, like all of Bon Jovi’s best music, stares down the troubles that afflict our lives, and offers a bracing vision for overcoming those obstacles. It’s stirring, and it’s an emotion that, strong as the album is, will find its most convincing expression on the concert stage. And this is why Bon Jovi have managed to play over 2600 concerts to over 34 million fans in over 50 countries. „I can’t believe I’m even saying this, but I can’t wait to go on the road again,“ Jon Bon Jovi exclaims.

Das Album kann man ab sofort auf oder im Shop (Rubrik: Bon Jovi) vorbestellen.

Clarence Clemons Memoiren – „Big Man – Real Life & Tall Tales“

E Street Band Saxophonist Clarence Clemons hat seine Memoiren niedergeschrieben. Sein Werk „Big Man – Real Life & Tall Tales“ erschien im Verlagshaus „Hachette Book Group / Grand Central Publishing“ und ist seit dem 12. Oktober 2009 auch in Deutschland erhältlich.

For the first time ever comes the inside story of Clarence „Big Man“ Clemons–his life before, during and beyond the E-Street Band, including unbelievable, never-before-told adventures with Bruce Springsteen, the band, and an incredible cast of other famous characters recounted by himself and his best friend, television writer/ producer Don Reo.

Here are just a few things you’ll get from reading it:

  • The truth behind the final hours of making Born To Run
  • The real story of how the E-Street Band got its name
  • What happened when Clarence and Ringo Starr were sitting in a hotel room and Clarence got the call that Bruce was breaking up the band
  • How Bruce and Clarence met that dark, stormy night at the Student Prince
  • The E-Street band’s show at Sing-Sing prison where all of their equipment blows out right as they take the stage
  • The secret that Robert De Niro told Clarence and Bruce they had to keep for 25 years

But that’s merely a glimpse. This is not your average rock book. It is something creative, something unique, something new. It is the story of E-Street. It is the story of stories. It is the story of the Big Man.
Don Reo is the writer/producer of many award-winning television series. He lives in Santa Barbara California with his wife Judith D. Allison.

„Legends have a way of growing every time they’re told. This time, the tales of rock and roll history are brought to life by a legend himself, Clarence Clemons. Big Man relives Clemons’s story in a unique personal narrative that’s bound in both history and folklore. This is an essential read for any music lover.“ -President Bill Clinton

„Big Man takes you on an outrageous journey with one of the most charismatic, gracious, kind and talented men of our time. This peek into the world of Clarence is full of fun and laughter, which is exactly what this guy is all about. He’s a genuine soul worth his weight in gold. That’s why he’s been an inspiration to me for years and years, and his incredible music brings great joy to my heart. His role in the E Street Band helped place him and the band in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame…right where he belongs.“ -Pat Riley, NBA Hall Of Fame coach

„Big Man is one of the greatest books about a big black man ever written. If you want to get really close to a big black man without getting punched in the face, this book’s for you!“ -Chris Rock

„The feeling I get watching Clarence walk to center stage to play his sax must be similar to the feeling a Yankee fan had watching Babe Ruth walk to home plate: you’re sure a big man is about to do something that’s gonna make you cheer louder than you ever have before. This great book makes that feeling even stronger. Now excuse me while I drive my sleek machine over the Jersey state line.“ -Artie Lange, New York Times bestselling Author

„Big Man is too funny, soulful, outrageous and wise to have been written by two people. I suspect Don Reo is an invented character. A mystical book, an oddly beautiful book, a wonderful book.“ -Kinky Friedman

Thomas Heinen – Gesang, Gitarre, Harmonika
Andrea Linneweber – Acoustic Gitarre, Background Vocals
Roger Barrach – Gitarre
Torsten Bugiel – Drums
Sebastian Naas – Bass
Ralf Beck – Keyboards
Günther Matern – Tenor Saxophon
