Heute Nachmittag wurden die Nominierungen für die ECHO-Verleihung am 4. März 2010 in Berlin bekannt gegeben. In der Kategorie „Bester Künstler International Rock/Pop“ fällt die Entscheidung zwischen David Guetta, Mark Knopfler, Milow, Bruce Springsteen und Robbie Williams.

Weitere Nominees sind u.a. Depeche Mode, U2, Xavier Naidoo, Annett Louisan, die Black Eyed Peas und Nena. Bei der Verleihung des ECHO – Deutscher Musikpreis in der Messe Berlin am 4. März feiert Weltstar Sade ihr Comeback. Zu den weiteren Show-Acts gehört u.a. Jan Delay. Moderatoren sind Sabine Heinrich und Matthias Opdenhövel.
Im Rahmen der 19. Award-Show wird Weltstar Sade ihr Comeback feiern. Zehn Jahre nach ihrem letzten Album stellt die nigerianisch-britische Sängerin bei der ECHO-Verleihung ihren neuen Song „Soldier Of Love“ erstmals im deutschen Fernsehen vor. Zu den Show-Acts des ECHO 2010 gehört auch der Hamburger HipHop- und Soul-Musiker Jan Delay, der die Ballade „Hoffnung“ aus seinem Nummer-1-Album „Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Soul“ präsentiert. Das Erste überträgt den ECHO 2010 am 4. März, um 20.15 Uhr live.
Zu den ECHO-Nominees in den insgesamt 23 Kategorien gehören zahlreiche nationale und internationale Top-Stars. So sind in der Kategorie „Künstler National Rock/Pop“ Roger Cicero, David Garrett, Michael Hirte, Marius Müller-Westernhagen und Xavier Naidoo nominiert. Als „Künstlerin National Rock/Pop“ gehen Eisblume, Annett Louisan, Ina Müller, Nena und Cassandra Steen ins Rennen. In der Kategorie „Künstler International Rock/Pop“ fällt die Entscheidung bei den Männern zwischen David Guetta, Mark Knopfler, Milow, Bruce Springsteen und Robbie Williams, bei den Frauen sind Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, Marit Larsen und P!nk gelistet. Als beste Gruppe im Bereich Rock/Pop National können sich Adoro, Ich + Ich, Pur, Silbermond und die Söhne Mannheims Chancen auf einen ECHO ausrechnen. Am Samstag, 23. Januar 2010, fand das alljährliche „Ranney School Benefit Concert“ im Stone Pony, Asbury Park, NJ statt. Bruce Springsteen unterstützte die „Bobby Bandiera Band“ und sammelte Spenden für die in Tinton Falls, NJ beheimatete Privatschule. Mit von der Partie waren ausserdem Ehefrau Patti Scialfa und Southside Johnny.

Gestern Abend trafen weit über 100 Weltstars bei der Spendengala „Hope for Haiti“ in den MTV Studios in Los Angeles, New York und London aufeinander. Neben Coldplay, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Shakira und vielen anderen, beteiligte sich auch Bruce Springsteen an diesem Spendenmarathon.
‚Der Boss‘ performte den Song „We Shall Overcome“.
