In der diesjährigen „Forbes Liste der einflussreichsten Prominenten der Welt“ wird Bruce Springsteen auf Platz 17 gelistet. Das „Forbes Magazin“ erstellt seine Liste nicht nur nach dem Einkommen der Stars, sondern auch nach Popularität und Präsenz in den Medien. Dazu zählen unter anderem Auftritte im Fernsehen, Titelbilder auf Zeitschriften und Erwähnungen im Internet.
Am 29. Juni 2010 (Release in Deutschland: 20. Juli 2010) erscheint das neue Alejandro Escovedo Album „Street Songs of Love“. Wie schon auf dem Vorgängeralbum „Real Animal“ wird abermals Bruce Springsteen mit von der Partie sein. Der „Boss“ steuerte einen Gitarrenriff zum Song „Faith“ bei. Übrigens ist Jon Landau seit April 2008 Alejandro Escovedos Manager.

Long one of America’s most admired poet-rockers, Escovedo’s sometimes tortured path to ‚Street Songs,‘ a record that decisively fulfills all expectations, has been full of twists, turns, hard landings and well earned hard truths.
For Streets Songs of Love, Escovedo once again collaborated with producer Tony Visconti (T. Rex, David Bowie, U2, Morrissey) and chief songwriting partner Chuck Prophet. The album’s 13 tracks seemingly distill every broken heart and pierced dream into a determined, soulful, glorious celebration of survival, liberation and ultimate salvation.
A father aches for his son’s struggle to find life’s meaning in „Down In The Bowery,“ perhaps the album’s beating heart on which Ian Hunter contributes full-throated vocals. Bruce Springsteen and Alejandro trade lines around a nasty guitar riff on „Faith,“ a tightly woven rocker that bores in and never lets go. E Street Band Gitarrist Little Steven bestätigt in einem Interview mit EMUSIC, dass pünktlich zum diesjährigen Weihnachtsfest die „Darkness on the Edge of Town“ Box – mit zehn Outtakes – erscheinen wird.
Ausserdem besuchte Little Steven van Zandt am Wochenende das „Hard Rock Calling Festival 2010“. Auf dem Konzertgelände führte er ein Interview mit „Absolute Radio“.
In letzter Zeit tauchten im Internet Gerüchte auf, dass der amerikanische Drehbuchautor und Regisseur David Chase an einer Spielfilmumsetzung der HBO-Serienproduktion „The Sopranos“ arbeite.
Litte Steven stellte in einem Interview klar, dass derzeit nichts in Planung sei. Stattdessen arbeiten Steven Van Zandt und David Chase an einem Film, der die Geschichte einer jungen Band im New Jersey der 1960er Jahre erzählt.
Zu guter Letzt bestätigte der E Steet Band Gitarrist, dass Bruce Springsteen eine zwei-, möglicherweise sogar dreijährige Pause einlegen werde.

Fans of „The Sopranos“ hoping for a spinoff movie will just have to keep on hoping. „Little“ Steven Van Zandt, the Bruce Springsteen guitarist who played tsunami-coiffed Silvio Dante in David Chase’s epic mob series, told Gatecrasher on Wednesday that „there’s no truth, unfortunately,“ to the rumor that a movie based on the former hit HBO show is quietly in the works.

The good news is that Van Zandt and Chase are again working together, on a film that sounds like it could have sprung from the back pages of the musician’s life. The project is a rock-driven story „about a band growing up in New Jersey in the ’60s,“ says Van Zandt.
