SuperBowl Journal im Fernsehen

Am 7. September ’09 um 20.00 Uhr Ortszeit zeigt der amerikanische Football-Sender „NFL NETWORK“ die 60minütige Dokumentation „Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band – Working on a Dream: A Super Bowl Journal“.

NFL NETWORK & BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN PRESENT BEHIND-THE-SCENES SUPER BOWL HALFTIME DOCUMENTARY
Springsteen Narrates „Working on a Dream: A Super Bowl Journal“

60-Minute Special Debuts Monday, Sept. 7 at 8:00 PM ET
Exclusively on NFL Network

More people watched Pittsburgh defeat Arizona 27-23 on NBC — 151.6 million — than watched any other program in the history of American television. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band performed four songs („Born to Run,“ „10th Avenue Freeze-Out,“ „Working on a Dream,“ and „Glory Days“) in the 12-minute halftime show originally televised by NBC.
Now, fans will get a guided, behind-the-scenes tour of the Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show. Springsteen himself narrates the special 60-minute „Working on a Dream: A Super Bowl Journal“ which debuts Monday, September 7 at 8:00 PM ET exclusively on NFL Network.
In the documentary, Springsteen takes viewers inside the band’s trailer prior to performing and relays the sights and sounds he experienced from center stage.“The NFL threw us an anniversary party the likes of which we’d never throw for ourselves with fireworks and everything,“ Springsteen said. „I love playing long and hard, but it was the 35 years in 12 minutes… that was the trick. You start here, you end here, that’s it.
„The Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show was nominated for four Emmy awards.

Update: Bruce Springsteen & John Fogerty

Am 11. September 2009 erscheint auch in Deutschland das neue John Fogerty Album „The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again“.
Bruce Springsteen hat an der CD mitgewirkt und den Everly Brothers Hit „When Will I Be Loved“ beigesteuert.

Den Song „When Will I Be Loved“ kann man sich übrigens auf der offiziellen John Fogerty Homepage anhören.

Infos:

Bruce Springsteen will make a guest appearance on John Fogerty’s upcoming album, „The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again“ (yes, that’s „Rides,“ not „Ride“). The two will duet on the Everly Brothers hit „When Will I Be Loved.“
The album, consisting mostly of covers, is due to be released in late summer or early fall. It is designed as a tribute to Fogerty’s musical roots, and is a sequel to his 1973 album, „The Blue Ridge Rangers.“
The album will also feature Don Henley and Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles, on Rick Nelson’s „Garden Party.“ Other songs Fogerty will perform include John Prine’s „Paradise,“ John Denver’s „Back Home Again,“ Buck Owens‘ „I Don’t Care (Just As Long As You Love Me)“ and his own „Change in the Weather,“ originally recorded for his 1986 album, „Eye of the Zombie.“

Pressetext:

FOR SALE: BRUCE’S HUGE LITTLE CRIB
It’s “the best darn piece of rock and roll memorabilia that $299,000 can buy,” says the real estate agent with the exclusive listing.
The tiny bungalow in the West End section of Long Branch where a scrawny young Bruce Springsteen wrote the title track of his career-making ‘Born to Run‘ LP is up for sale.
According to Springsteen aficionado Stan Goldstein of the Star-Ledger, Springsteen lived in the house, at 7-1/2 West End Court, in 1974 and 1975, the year “Born to Run” was released.
There, Springsteen wrote his third album’s anthemic title song as well as “Thunder Road” and “Backstreets,” Goldstein reported earlier this year, citing a DVD released in connection with a 30th-anniversary repackaging of the LP in 2005. In the film, Springsteen appears outside the cottage reminiscing about his time there.
Realtor Susan McLaughlin of Keller Williams Realty tells oRBIt that the one-story shotgun-style house is “bigger than it looks at 828 square feet.” With two bedrooms and one bath, it features high ceilings and five rooms, she says. It’s also just 100 feet away from a path down to the beach and zoned commercial-residential.
But oh, what a pedigree the 25-foot by 95-foot lot carries. In one of the home’s bedrooms, as well as on the tiny porch, Springsteen is said to have spent hours writing and polishing the songs that landed him on the covers of Time and Newsweek the same week in October 1975 and lofted him to rock stardom.
McLaughlin says comps on other nearby cottages show a value of $250,000. So the Springsteen premium is set, for now, at $49,000.
Want a walk-through? You’d better be a serious shopper. McLaughlin is showing the house by appointment only.
