Frage: You recently had knee surgery, how is your recovery going?
Clarence Clemons:
„I got them replaced. It’s been a lot of therapy, but I will be ready to perform Sunday.“
Das komplette Interview kann man hier nachlesen.

Frage: What do you anticipate for the Super Bowl halftime show?
Nils Lofgren: Well, it goes way beyond just a gig. First of all, TV’s never your favorite thing to do in a great band because it removes the three-hour sweatfest. That being said, after 40 years on the road, it’s without a doubt going to be the best and greatest TV opportunity any of us will ever have.

Darkness on the Edge of Town – Anniversary Box?

Billboard.com berichtet, dass Bruce Springsteen in den kommenden Monaten eine Anniversary-Box von „Darkness on the Edge of Town“ veröffentlichen wird.

Auszug aus dem Artikel:

Bruce Springsteen Prepping ‚Darkness‘ Reissue
The „Darkness“ package „would involve remastering that record, doing the kind of super-creative reconstruction and documentary of how it all came about and finding usable live footage from that point in time,“ Springsteen manager Jon Landau tells Billboard.

  • Down to Earth – aus dem Film „Wall-E“
Music by Peter Gabriel and Thomas Newman; Lyric by Peter Gabriel
  • Jai Ho – aus dem Film „Slumdog Millionaire“
Music by A.R. Rahman; Lyric by Gulzar
  • O Saya – aus dem Film „Slumdog Millionaire“
Music by A.R. Rahman; Lyric by A.R. Rahman and Maya Arulpragasam

Die Los Angeles Times schreibt in diesem Zusammenhang:

Bruce Springsteen won at the Academy Awards in 1993 for the song „Streets of Philadelphia“ from the film „Philadelphia.“ And he was nominated two years later for the title song of „Dead Man Walking“.
So how did he not make it into the final race this year? The Oscars‘ Rule Sixteen sets out the criteria for winnowing the list of eligible songs down to the final nominees. There was no need for the executive committee of the music branch to recommend that there be only three nominees as the number of songs far exceeded the threshold of 25 that might have triggered such action … ganzen Artikel lesen
