Gestern am amerikanischen Unabhängigkeitstag (Independence Day) war Bruce Springsteen mit der E Street Band Live im Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy zu sehen.
Das 17.000 Zuschauer fassende „Palais Omnisport“ ist eine Sportarena im Pariser Stadtteil Bercy. Die Halle wurde von den Architekten Michel Andrault, Pierre Parat, Jean Prouvé und Aydin Guvan entworfen und im Jahr 1984 eröffnet. Die Halle war unter anderem der Veranstaltungsort der Leichtathletik-Hallenweltmeisterschaften 1997 und der Basketball-Europameisterschaft 1999.
Bruce Springsteen performte zum ersten Mal am 4. September 1988 anlässlich der „Amnesty International – Human Rights Now!“ Tour im Palais Omnisport. Bis heute folgten elf weitere Auftritte.

Nach einer 9tägigen Tourpause meldete sich der „Boss“ mit einem fulminanten Konzert im „Palais Omnisport“ (Paris) zurück. Die 17.000 Zuschauer erlebten eine 29-Songs umfassende Show mit den Tourpremieren „4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)“ und „Independence Day“. Ausserdem gab sich Patti Scialfa die Ehre und sang mit Bruce Springsteen den Song „Easy Money“.
Auch morgen Abend – 05. Juli 2012 – wird Bruce Springsteen im Palais Omnisport vor 17.000 begeisterten Fans auftreten.

Derzeit macht ein spannendes Gerücht die Runde durch diverse Bruce Springsteen Fanforen. Angeblich hat Bruce Springsteen die Tourpause genutzt, um gemeinsam mit Tom Morello an neuen Songs zu feilen.
Das „neue“ Bruce Springsteen Album soll im September 2012 – nach den letzten Auftritten in Chicago, IL, Washington DC und East Rutherford, NJ – abgemischt und veröffentlicht werden.
Ausserdem soll die „Wrecking Ball“ Tour im kommenden Jahr fortgesetzt werden. Neben Auftritten in den Vereinigten Staaten sollen auch weitere Konzerte in Europa folgen. Wenn man den Gerüchten Glauben schenken darf, wird Bruce Springsteen mit der E Street Band im Sommer 2013 in Hamburg und München spielen.
Die öffentlich-rechtliche Digitalsender ZDFKultur zeigt heute Abend (30. Juni 2012) von 20.00 bis 24.00 Uhr die Höhepunkte des diesjährigen „Isle of Wight Festivals“ (wir berichteten hier).
Leider ist es dem Fernsehsender nicht möglich, Ausschnitte des Bruce Springsteen Konzerts in Deutschland zu senden.

ZDFkultur ist 2012 zum ersten Mal beim Isle of Wight dabei und zeigt neben zahlreichen Impressionen die Hauptacts des Festivals in einer vierstündigen Highlight-Sendung. Dieses Jahr versammeln sich auf der Bühne unter anderen: Bruce Springsteen, Elbow, Jessie J, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Feeder und Tinie Tempah.

Ringo Starr spielte am Mittwoch (27. Juni 2012) im „Community Theatre at Mayo Center“, Morristown, NJ ein Konzert. Unterstützt wurde der Beatle von Todd Rundgren, Steve Lukather (Toto), Gregg Rolie (Journey, Santana) und Richard Page (Mr. Mister).
Als Ringo Starr den Beatles Klassiker „With a Little Help from my Friends“ (zu finden auf dem Beatles Album „Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band„) anstimmte, kam ganz überraschend E Street Band Gitarrist Little Steven van Zandt auf die Bühne.

Ringo Starr and the All-Starr Band made a rare set list change at Mayo Center in Morristown, N.J. show Wednesday. According to Tom Frangione of Beatle Brunch, Todd Rundgren dropped “Hello It’s Me” and replaced it with “Love Is The Answer,” the Utopia song that became a 1979 Top 10 hit for England Dan and John Ford Coley.
And that wasn’t the only surprise that night. Little Steven Van Zandt made a guest appearance on the chorus of “With A Little Help From My Friends” and “Give Peace A Chance” that caught guitarist Steve Lukather by surprise.

Bruce Springsteen will be honored as the 2013 MusiCares Person of the Year on Feb. 8, 2013, it was announced today by Neil Portnow, President/CEO of the MusiCares Foundation and The Recording Academy, and Scott Pascucci, Chair of the MusiCares Foundation Board.
Proceeds from the 23rd annual benefit gala dinner and concert — to be held in Los Angeles during GRAMMY Week two days prior to the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards — will provide essential support for MusiCares, which ensures that music people have a place to turn in times of financial, medical and personal need. Arranger/composer and nationally renowned music producer Rob Mathes will be the evening’s musical director.
Springsteen is being honored as the 2013 MusiCares Person of the Year in recognition of his extraordinary creative accomplishments as well as his significant charitable work, which has included an impressive range of philanthropic activities over the years.
„Bruce Springsteen is a truly gifted and Renaissance artist of our time, a national treasure, and an exemplary humanitarian,“ said Portnow. „His career is a testament to the power of creative excellence, and his contributions as a philanthropist speak to the tenacity of the human spirit. Springsteen’s recording career spans nearly 40 years, beginning with his 1973 Columbia Records release Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J. By 1975, the covers of both Time and Newsweek declared Springsteen’s music a national phenomenon. He has released 17 studio albums, garnered 20 GRAMMY Awards and won an Oscar (for „Streets Of Philadelphia“ from 1993’s Philadelphia). He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2009 he was a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors. His albums Born To Run and Born In The U.S.A. have been inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame. Springsteen’s latest album, Wrecking Ball, was released in March. The MusiCares Person of the Year tribute ceremony is one of the most prestigious events held during GRAMMY Week.
