‚Summer Of Sorcery‘, the follow up to the critically acclaimed ‚Soulfire‘ is SVZ’s first album of original material in 20 years. It was written during the second half of the ‚Soulfire‘ Tour and recorded at Stevie’s Renegade Studio September-November 2018. All 12 songs are original SVZ compositions, 1 recut from his Revolution Album, 1 outtake from the Lilyhammer Score, and 10 new songs. The album was recorded with the same members of The Disciples Of Soul that have been touring this past year. The album is a breakthrough artistically for Stevie in several ways, “My first five albums in the 80s were both very personal, and very political. I wanted the new material to be more fictionalized. The way records were when I grew up. Before it was an Artform. The concept (loosely) was capturing and communicating that first rush of Summer. The electricity of that feeling of unlimited possibilities. Of falling in love with the world for the first time. Obviously, there are occasional personal references, and a bit of what’s going on socially scattered throughout, but I achieved what I set out to do. I created a collection of fictional audio movie scenes that feel like Summer. I’m quite proud of it.”

Nachdem Steven van Zandt bereits 2018 seine deutschen Fans und die Pressevertreter mit seiner Tour begeisterte, die ganz im Zeichen seines im Jahre 2017 erschienenen sechsten Studioalbums „Soulfire“ stand, kommt E Street Band Gitarrist, Schauspieler und Radio DJ Little Steven nun mit seinen neuformierten „Disciples of Soul“ zurück nach Deutschland.

Die langerwartete „Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul – Soulfire Live“ Blu-Ray erscheint am 22. März 2019.

Die Videoaufzeichnungen entstanden während der 2017er „Soulfire Tour“ in den Vereinigten Staaten und Europa. Ferner ist auf einer Blu-Ray auch das komplette Mini-Konzert im legendären „Cavern Club“ in Liverpool zu finden. Am 14. November 2017 spielte Little Steven in besagter Location acht Beatles Klassiker.

Miami Steve feiert heute seinen 68. Geburtstag.
Steven van Zandt wurde bekannt als Produzent von Bruce Springsteen, Lone Justice, Southside Johnny und vielen anderen. Auch als Songwriter, Radio DJ, Schauspieler und langjähriges Mitglied der legendären E Street Band feierte er grosse Erfolge.

Nach seiner zwischenzeitlichen Trennung von Bruce Springsteens E Street Band veröffentlichte er mit „Men Without Women“ (1982), „Voice of America“ (1984), „Freedom“ (1987), „Revolution“ (1989) und „Born Again Savage“ (1999) fünf bemerkenswerte Solo Alben.

Auch als Initiator der Initiative „Artists United Against Apartheid“ machte er sich einen Namen. Mit 50 international bekannten Künstlern nahm er den Song „Sun City“ auf und veröffentlichte am 7. Dezember 1985 das gleichnamige Studioalbum.

Am 11. Juni 1988 trat er beim „Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute Concert“ im Londoner Wembley Stadion auf. Gemeinsam mit Jim Kerr (Simple Minds), Meat Loaf, Jackson Browne und anderen Künstlern performte er „Sun City“ live vor Publikum.

Darüber hinaus zählte er zwischen 1999 bis 2007 zum Cast der beliebten amerikanischen Krimiserie „The Sopranos“.

Ferner schlüpfte er im Jahre 2011 erstmals in der norwegisch-amerikanischen Co-Produktion „Lilyhammer“ in die Rolle des Mafiaaussteigers Frank „The Fixer“ Tagliano. In 24 Episoden schlägt sich der ehemalige Gangster, der im norwegischen Lillehammer ein neues Leben anzufangen versucht, durch aberwitzige Abenteuer. Unter anderem wurde die Serie beim Fernsehfestival von Monte Carlo zwei Mal in Folge zur besten europäischen Comedyserie gekürt.

2015 arbeitete er mit der Soulsängerin Darlene Love an einem neuen Studioalbum. „Introducing Darlene Love“ entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit namhaften Künstlern wie Elvis Costello, Linda Perry (4 Non Blonds), Joan Jett und Bruce Springsteen. Das Werk erschien am 18. September 2015 und wurde von den Kritikern mit Lob überschüttet (wir berichteten hier).

Little Steven – Soulfire (Album, 2017)

Am 19. Mai 2017 wurde Little Stevens neues Studioalbum „Soulfire“ released. Das Werk beinhaltet 10 Eigenkompositionen sowie zwei Coversongs von James Brown und Etta James.

Im Rahmen der „Soulfire Tour 2017“ trat Little Steven im Clara Zetkin Park in Leipzig, im Batschkapp in Frankfurt, in der Eventhall in Regensburg-Obertraubling, in der Fabrik in Hamburg, Im Wizemann in Stuttgart, in der Berliner Columbiahalle sowie der Münchner Muffathalle auf.

E Street Band Gitarrist Little Steven van Zandt veröffentlichte am 27. April 2018 das digitale Live Album „Soulfire Live“ (wir berichteten hier).

Sämtliche Songs wurden während der 2017er „Soulfire Tour“ in den Vereinigten Staaten und Europa aufgenommen.

Seit dem 24. August 2018 ist dieses Werk auch als 3 CD-Box mit zahlreichen Bonustracks verfügbar. Auf der dritten CD sind unter anderem Songs enthalten, die Little Steven mit dem Gitarristen Jerry Miller (am 15. Oktober 2017 in Seattle, WA), dem ehemaligen Bon Jovi Gitarristen Richie Sambora (am 19. Oktober 2017 in London), Peter Wolf (am 29. September 2017 in Boston, MA) und Bruce Springsteen am 27. Mai 2017 im Count Basie Theatre, Red Bank, NJ performt hat.
