12. Januar 2017 – Bruce Springsteen spielt Konzert für Barack Obama

Bruce Springsteen hat am 12. Januar 2017 an einem Konzert für Barack Obamas Mitarbeiter im Weissen Haus in Washington DC teilgenommen.

Der 67jährige Künstler trat im grössten Saal – dem sogenannten East Room – vor 250 Zuschauern auf und performte 15 Songs.

Das Rolling Stone Magazin berichtet:

Before „Born in the U.S.A.,“ Springsteen called the 1984 hit single a „protest song“ and lamented that the track had been misinterpreted in the past, and it would continued to be misinterpreted in the future, Backstreets reports … Springsteen also dedicated „Tougher Than the Rest,“ which also featured Patti Scialfa, to the Obamas for all they endured during their time in the White House. / Quelle
