In der aktuellen Oktober Ausgabe des „Rolling Stone Magazins“ findet man ein Interview mit Bruce Springsteen. Der „Boss“ spricht über seine Autobiografie „Born to Run“ sowie über zukünftige Projekte. Unter anderem bestätigte er, dass er „keine fünf- oder sechsjährigen Pläne verfolge und sich freue, bald Solo auf Tour zu gehen und auch Konzerte mit der E Street Band zu spielen“.

Darüber hinaus erzählte er dem Rolling Stone Redakteur Brian Hiatt, dass er viele Songs seines neuen Soloalbums bereits vor „Wrecking Ball“ (2012) komponiert habe. „Es ist die Platte, die ich vor Wrecking Ball schrieb aber nicht beenden konnte“ wird Bruce Springsteen weiter zitiert.

The next few years and beyond: Is the idea to just move between the different modes you have – E Street, solo, archival releases?
Yeah. All of the above, you know. At this point, my plan is to do everything that I do and at different intervals. I’d love to tour solo again. I look forward to playing with the band again. We’re going to play in Australia this winter. And whatever else comes my way, whatever projects come my way. I don’t have any five- or six-year plan, outside of having whatever music I’m making now and getting out and just continuing my work life.

You’ve said you have an album done that’s influenced by Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb’s collaborations.
I don’t want to overemphasize the influences too much, because people may hear it and go, „What’s that got to do with that?“ But it was sort of a place where I found some inspiration.

Is that a different record than the one you almost finished before Wrecking Ball?
It’s the record I wrote before Wrecking Ball but could not finish, and in attempting to finish it, I wrote Wrecking Ball. So the roots of the record go back quite a ways. Sometimes you have to wait for these puzzles to sort themselves out, and it can take years. I mean, I have a record that I’ve been working on that’s 20 years old. Bruce Springsteens Autobiografie wird seit heute übrigens auf Platz 1 der Bestseller Liste der „New York Times“ geführt. Auch in Europa verkauft sich das Buch sehr gut. In Deutschland, England/Irland, Dänemark und Schweden ist „Born to Run“ ebenfalls auf Platz 1 zu finden.

Er spricht seine Kindheit und Jugend im katholisch geprägten Freehold, NJ an und erzählt, wie er beschloss, Musiker zu werden. Er beschreibt sein Heranwachsen als Künstler, seine frühen Tage als Barmusiker in Asbury Park, NJ und natürlich auch den Aufstieg seiner legendären E Street Band. Bruce Springsteen – Chapter and Verse

Am 23. September 2016 erschien ausserdem das 18 Songs umfassende Begleitalbum „Chapter and Verse“. Die Scheibe enthält Songs aus den Jahren 1966 bis 2012. Unter anderem auch etliche Akustik- sowie Liveaufnahmen der Bruce Springsteen Bands „The Castiles“, „Steet Mill“ und der „Bruce Springsteen Band“. Die CD bzw.
