Bruce Springsteens Musikkollege Tom Morello hat am 9. September 2011 ein neues Album mit dem Titel „World Wide Rebel Songs“ veröffentlicht. Der einstige Rage Against The Machine und Audioslave Gitarrist präsentiert neben einigen Rockperlen („Black Spartacus Heart Attack Machine“ und „It Begins Tonight“) vor allem ruhige Folkballaden, die auch aus Bob Dylans oder Johnny Cashs Feder stammen könnten.
Seit 2003 ist der Künstler als „Nightwatchman“ unterwegs und stand auch mit Bruce Springsteens E Street Band auf der Bühne.
Am 8. April 2008 performte er gemeinsam mit Springsteen den Song „Ghost of Tom Joad“. Das Lied wurde wenig später auf der EP „Magic Tour Highlights“ veröffentlicht.

Jake Clemons, Bowen, and Bonds to honor C in South Florida
Following Clarence Clemons‘ death, HomeSafe was designated by his family as the officially-named recipient of donations being made in his honor and memory. For the last five years, the Big Man helped raise millions for the South Florida non-profit, hosting his Clarence Clemons Classic Rock & Roll Party annual fundraiser. This year, that event becomes The Classic Rock & Roll Party — A Tribute to Clarence Clemons.
On October 1 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollwood, FL, the benefit will being together the Temple of Soul as house band, Jake Clemons, Gary U.S. Bonds, J.T. Bowen, Davy Jones, and more for night of music to honor the Big Man’s and HomeSafe’s continuing mission of helping victims of child abuse and domestic violence. Clarence’s longtime music director John Colby is doing the honors production-wise, and Nicko McBrain (did you know Clarence was buddies with the Iron Maiden drummer?) will emcee. Victoria Clemons, Clarence’s widow, will give a live, personal tribute to her husband followed by a video tribute.
Tickets are $500 per person, and include a full course meal, beverages, and live entertainment.

Auch in diesem Jahr wird Bruce Springsteen am „New Yorker Comedy Festival“ teilnehmen. Anlässlich der Spendengala „Stand Up for Heroes“ am 9. November 2011 wird Springsteen im Beacon Theatre auftreten und Spendengelder für die „Bod Woodruff Foundation“ einsammeln. Die gemeinnützige Organisation unterstützt Menschen, die in Kriegen verletzt wurden.
Neben Bruce Springsteen sind Jim Gaffigan, Ricky Gervais, Jon Stewart und The Max Weinberg Big Band mit von der Partie.
