„Red Headed Woman“ wurde von Bruce Springsteen im Jahre 1990 komponiert und das erste Mal am 16. November 1990 im „Shrine Auditorium“ in Los Angeles, CA live vor Publikum performt. Ferner wurde der Song 1993 auf „MTV (un)plugged)“ veröffentlicht.

Wie schon im vergangenen Jahr (wir berichteten hier und hier), wird Bruce Springsteen auch 2011 gemeinsam mit Musikkollege Joe Grushecky zwei Konzerte in Pittsburg, PA spielen. Die beiden Auftritte sind für den 3. und 4. November 2011 in der “Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall” geplant.

Am 7. November 2011 veröffentlicht „Spin Records“ in eine CD mit Bruce Springsteen Aufnahmen aus dem Jahre 1973. Auf „The Rare 1973 Broadcasts – Bruce Springsteen – Bound for Glory“ findet man 12 Songs, die der „Boss“ am 9. Januar 1973 bzw. am 24. April 1973 eingespielt hat. Die beiden Konzerte wurde im Radio live übertragen.

„….Greetings From Asbury Park saw the light of day in early ’73, and within the week Springsteen, with a little help from three of the soon to be named East Street Band, were performing their first ever radio broadcast, aired on Boston’s WBCN FM. A quite remarkable performance ensued with Bruce and the boys in excellent humour and fine form as they played a terrific set, although remarkably including just one cut from Greetings…“

Am 21. November 2011 erscheint ein Album mit dem Titel „Chimes of Freedom: Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International“. Auf dem Werk soll man 50 Coversongs finden, die von Künstlern wie Sting, Rosanne Cash, Lenny Kravitz, Alison Krauss, Sussan Deyhim, Diana Krall und Bruce Springsteen eingespielt wurden.
Um welche Songs es sich handelt, ist derzeit noch nicht bekannt.

Heute veröffentlichte die „New Jersey Hall of Fame“ eine Liste mit den Nominierten für 2012. Die Verantwortlichen verkündeten, dass statt der üblichen sechs Personen je Kategorie, insgesamt 10 vorgeschlagen werden können. Dies bedeutet, dass es 2012 nicht wie im vergangenen Jahr 30 Nominierte, sondern 50 geben wird.

In der Kategorie „Entertainment“ wurde auch die E Street Band genannt. Weitere Nominierte sind: Alan Alda, Cella Cruz, Christpher Reeve, Connie Francis, Dionne Warwick, Dizzy Gilespie, Joe Piscopo, Michael Douglas und Sarah Vaughn. – Die Nominierungsliste ansehen: pdf Dokument

Bis zum 31. Dezember kann man auf der offiziellen Homepage der „NJ Hall of Fame“ abstimmen. Das Ergebnis wird im Januar 2012 bekannt gegeben.
