SONY wird am 19. April 2024 ein neues Bruce Springsteen Best-Of Album veröffentlichen.

„Best Of Bruce Springsteen“ wird am 19. April 2024 als 18-Track-Set auf 2 LPs oder 1 CD erhältlich sein – und digital als erweitertes Paket mit 31 Kompositionen.

Die Sammlung umfasst Songs aus Bruce Springsteens früher Karriere wie „Growin‘ Up“ und „Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)“, Klassiker aus Springsteens Live-Shows von „Dancing In The Dark“ bis „The Rising“, Bestseller wie „Born To Run“ und „Hungry Heart“ sowie die jüngeren Veröffentlichungen „Hello Sunshine“ oder „Letter To You“.

„Best Of Bruce Springsteen“ erscheint mit einem Albumcover, das Eric Meola während der Born To Run-Sessions fotografiert hat, sowie brandneuen Linernotes aus der Feder von Erik Flannigan.

Sony Music will celebrate the music of Bruce Springsteen next month with a collection of original songs spanning his storied 50-year recording career, from 1973’s Greeting from Asbury Park, NJ to 2020’s Letter To You. Best Of Bruce Springsteen will be available on April 19, and will come in physical formats as an 18-track set across 2 LPs or 1 CD – and digitally as an expanded 31-song package. The collection will span early-career favorites like “Growin’ Up” and “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight),” staples of Springsteen’s live shows from “Dancing In The Dark” to “The Rising,” best-selling breakouts like “Born To Run” and “Hungry Heart,” as well as recent releases “Hello Sunshine” and “Letter To You.” Here, these career-spanning works appear together in one set for the first time. Best Of Bruce Springsteen arrives with an album cover shot by Eric Meola during the Born To Run sessions, as well as new liner notes by Erik Flannigan.

Best Of Bruce Springsteen captures a body of work that has earned Springsteen honors and accolades including 20 GRAMMY Awards, an Academy Award, two Golden Globes, a special Tony Award, the Presidential Medal Of Freedom, a Kennedy Center Honor and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame. It has also made Springsteen one of the world’s most in-demand artists – topping 140 million records sold across the globe, more than 70 million in the United States alone, and becoming the first artist in history with a Top Five album in six consecutive decades. Springsteen is also one of only four artists to sell more than 20 million concert tickets since 1980 – including the highest-grossing worldwide tours of 2012 and 2016.

Before the release of Best Of Bruce Springsteen, he’ll return to the road with The E Street Band later this month, beginning on March 19 in Phoenix, Arizona for a series of 51 shows across North America and Europe. Continuing their first run together since 2016-2017, Springsteen and The E Street Band’s recent tour stops have been hailed as “one of the greatest shows ever” by The Daily Telegraph and “the greatest show on earth” by Billboard. Die “The Album Collection Volume 2” umfasst die Bruce Springsteen Releases “Tunnel of Love” (1987), “Chimes of Freedom” (EP – 1988), “Human Touch” (1992), “Lucky Town” (1992), “In Concert / MTV Plugged” (1993), “The Ghost of Tom Joad” (1995) sowie die “Blood Brothers” EP aus dem Jahre 1996.

The Album Collection Volume 2 (Booklet)

Darüber hinaus wird die Box mit einem 60seitigem Booklet ausgeliefert. Insgesamt umfasst die Box 10 Vinyl-LPs. (Eine Veröffentlichung auf CD ist nicht geplant).

Am 18.Mai 2018 veröffentlicht Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings das nummerierte und limitierte Vinyl-Boxset Bruce Springsteen: The Album Collection Vol. 2, 1987-1996. Die in der Collection versammelten Alben waren lange Zeit nicht erhältlich und erscheinen nun erstmals in ihrer remastered Fassung auf Vinyl. Es handelt sich um die vier Studioalben, die Bruce Springsteen in dieser Schaffensphase veröffentlichte, dazu kommen eine 12 -Version der 1988 erschienenen Live-EP Chimes of Freedom , das MTV Plugged -Special aus dem Jahr 1993 auf Doppel-LP und die 1996er Blood Brothers -EP, die zum ersten Mal überhaupt auf Vinyl auf den Markt kommt. Sämtliche LPs werden im Original-Artwork geliefert, ein 60-seitiges Booklet mit seltenen Fotos, Memorabilia und Zeitungsausschnitten aus den Jahren 1987-1996 runden das Set ab.
Die Alben auf Bruce Springsteen: The Album Collection Vol. 2 wurden von dem renommierten Tontechniker Bob Ludwig und Springsteens langjährigem Tonmann Toby Scott anhand der originalen Analog-Masters mittels des aufwendigen Plangent Process geremastert. Um die Klangqualität zu optimieren, wurden die Songs der Longplayer ‚Tunnel of Love (1987) und ‚Human Touch (1992) auf Doppel-Vinyl gepresst. Das Boxset besteht somit aus insgesamt 10 Schallplatten.
Alle Studioalben, die auf Bruce Springsteen: The Album Collection Vol. 2 zu finden sind, wurden von der RIAA mit Gold, Platin oder Mehrfach-Platin zertifiziert und die LPs erreichten die Top 5 der Billboard 200. Bruce Springsteen: The Album Collection Vol. 2 ist der Nachfolger von Bruce Springsteen: The Album Collection Vol. 1, 1973-1984, einem Boxset, das die ersten sieben Studioalben von Bruce Springsteen enthält.

Am 17. November 2014 erschien in Europa die „The Album Collection Volume 1 – 1973-1984“ auf acht CDs.

Die Sammlung umfasste die ersten sieben Bruce Springsteen Studioalben „Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ“ (1973), „The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle“ (1973), „Born to Run“ (1975), „Darkness on the Edge of Town“ (1978), „The River“ (1980), „Nebraska“ (1982) und „Born in the USA“ (1984).
