Die Musiker der E Street Band wurden gestern mit dem „Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Award for Musical Excellence“ ausgezeichnet. Somit sind Bruce Springsteens Bandkollegen offizielle Mitglieder der Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (wir berichteten hier und hier).
Bruce Springsteen kam die Ehre zuteil, die Einführungsrede für Roy Bittan, Steven Van Zandt, Nils Lofgren, Garry Tallent, Max Weinberg, David Sancious, Vini „Mad Dog“ Lopez, Vinnie Roslin, Ernie „Boom“ Carter, Patti Scialfa und die verstorbenen Clarence Clemons und Danny Federici zu halten:
Zu Guter letzt begeisterte Bruce Springsteen mit der E Street Band die Fans im “Barclays Center” in New York City, NY mit „The E Street Shuffle“, „The River“ und „Kitty’s Back“.
Am 10. April 2014 findet im “Barclays Center” in New York City, NY die diesjährige Einführungszeremonie zur “Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame” statt.
Neben Showgrössen und Bands wie KISS, Nirvana, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Linda Ronstadt, Peter Gabriel, Andrew Loog Oldham (Rolling Stones Manager), Brian Epstein (Beatles Manager) und Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam), wird auch die E Street Band in den elitären Kreis der “Rock And Roll Hall of Fame” Mitglieder aufgenommen.
Am 1. April 2014 wurde bekannt, dass sich auch Bruce Springsteen an der Zeremonie beteiligen und für seine Musikkollegen eine Rede halten wird. Darüber hinaus wird die E Street Band live auftreten und einige Songs zum Besten geben.

Bruce Springsteen wurde bereits am 15. März 1999 in die „Rock And Roll Hall of Fame“ aufgenommen. Während der Aufnahmezeremonie im Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City würdigte U2 Frontmann Bono Bruce Springsteen als herausragende Persönlichkeit der Rock Musik:
„He hasn’t done the things most rock stars do. He got rich and famous, but never embarrassed himself with all that success, did he? No drug busts, no blood changes in Switzerland. Even more remarkable, no golfing! No bad hair period, even in the ’80s. No wearing of dresses in videos … No embarrassing movie roles, no pet snakes, no monkeys. No exhibitions of his own paintings. Vom April 2009 bis zum Februar 2011 durften sich Besucher der „Rock & Roll Hall of Fame“ in Cleveland, OH an der sehenswerten Springsteen Sonderausstellung „From Asbury Park to the Promised Land“ erfreuen.
Unter anderem wurden diverse Gitarren des Künstlers, handschriftlich aufgesetzte Songtexte, Konzertposter, Klamotten und eine Corvette aus den 1960er Jahren ausgestellt.
Gestern wurde bekannt, dass die Ausstellung im kommenden Jahr in Philadelphia, PA wiederholt werden wird. Vom 17. Februar 2012 an, haben Fans die Möglichkeit, im „Constitution Center“ die Ausstellung zu besichtigen.
