Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band To Perform During Bridgestone Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show On NBC

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE E STREET BAND will perform in the BRIDGESTONE SUPER BOWL XLIII HALFTIME SHOW on NBC Sports at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Sunday, February 1, the NFL announced today.

The Super Bowl halftime show is annually the most-watched musical performance. More than 148 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year’s show. The Super Bowl and halftime show will be broadcast worldwide in more than 230 countries and territories.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band join an esteemed list of recent halftime acts that includes the Rolling Stones, U2, Paul McCartney, Prince and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

The BRIDGESTONE SUPER BOWL XLIII HALFTIME SHOW is an NFL NETWORK PRODUCTION and will be executive produced by Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of WHITE CHERRY ENTERTAINMENT and by DON MISCHER PRODUCTIONS. Don Mischer also will serve as director.

Februar 2009 standen sich der Meister der National Football Conference (NFC) – die „Arizona Cardinals“ – und der Meister der American Football Conference (AFC) – die „Pittsburgh Steelers“ – im 71.000 Zuschauer fassenden „Raymond James Stadium“ in Tampa, FL gegenüber.

In der Halbzeitpause lieferte Bruce Springsteen mit der E Street Band eine grandiose Show ab. Neben „10th Avenue Freeze Out“, „Working on a Dream“ und „Born to Run“ stimmte der „Boss“ natürlich auch „Glory Days“ an. Bruce Springsteen dichtete die erste Zeile von „Glory Days“ um. Anstatt „I had a friend was a big baseball player back in high school“ sang er „I had a friend was a big football player back in high school“.

Der „Super Bowl 2009“ hatte mit knapp 100 Millionen Zuschauer die höchste Football-Einschaltquote im amerikanischen Fernsehen. In Deutschland wurde das Spiel live von der ARD übertragen und lockte 400.000 Fans vor die heimischen Bildschirme.

Übrigens gewannen die „Pittsburgh Steelers“ das Spiel mit 27:23.

Am 1. Februar 2009 durfte Bruce Springsteen mit der E Street Band die Halbzeitpause des 43. Super Bowl Finales im „Raymond James Stadium“ in Tampa, FL gestalten.

Bruce Springsteen, Roy Bittan, Clarence Clemons, Nils Lofgren, Patti Scialfa, Garry Tallent, Steven Van Zandt, Max Weinberg, Charles Giordano und Soozie Tyrell gaben vor mittlerweile 12 Jahren die Songs „10th Avenue Freeze Out“, „Born to Run“, „Working On A Dream“ sowie „Glory Days“ zum Besten.

Beim diesjährigen Finale der National Football League (NFL) war Bruce Springsteen abermals beteiligt. Der 71jährige trat erstmals in einem Werbespot auf und war Star in einem zweiminütigen Clip des Autoherstellers JEEP. Bruce Springsteen rief zu Gemeinschaft und politischer Einheit auf.

Der Clip „The Middle“ wurde Ende Januar 2021 an fünf Tagen an diversen Locations gedreht. Unter anderem in der „Center Chapel“ in Lebanon, KS, in Oronoque, KS, Golden, CO, Denver, CO und Hastings, NE. Für die Produktion und den Schnitt zeigte sich Regisseur Thom Zimny verantwortlich.

Am 7. September ’09 um 20.00 Uhr Ortszeit zeigt der amerikanische Football-Sender „NFL NETWORK“ die 60minütige Dokumentation „Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band – Working on a Dream: A Super Bowl Journal“.

More people watched Pittsburgh defeat Arizona 27-23 on NBC — 151.6 million — than watched any other program in the history of American television. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band performed four songs („Born to Run,“ „10th Avenue Freeze-Out,“ „Working on a Dream,“ and „Glory Days“) in the 12-minute halftime show originally televised by NBC.
Now, fans will get a guided, behind-the-scenes tour of the Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show. Springsteen himself narrates the special 60-minute „Working on a Dream: A Super Bowl Journal“ which debuts Monday, September 7 at 8:00 PM ET exclusively on NFL Network.
In the documentary, Springsteen takes viewers inside the band’s trailer prior to performing and relays the sights and sounds he experienced from center stage.“The NFL threw us an anniversary party the likes of which we’d never throw for ourselves with fireworks and everything,“ Springsteen said. „I love playing long and hard, but it was the 35 years in 12 minutes… that was the trick. You start here, you end here, that’s it.
„The Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show was nominated for four Emmy awards.

Die Dokumentation soll demnächst auch in Deutschland laufen. Das ZDF hat sich um die Senderechte bemüht. Derzeit ist aber noch kein Ausstrahlungstermin bekannt.

Alle Schweizer dürfen sich jetzt schon freuen, denn das SF2 zeigt am 19. September besagte Dokumentation. Anlässlich einer „MusicNight“ läuft die Sendung ab 00.10 Uhr.

backstreets.com berichtet, dass Bruce Springsteens „Super Bowl Journal“ in Kürze ins Fernsehen kommen wird. Angeblich hat sich auch das ZDF um die Rechte bemüht.

Working on a Dream: A Super Bowl Journal is a new behind-the-scenes documentary directed and edited by Thom Zimny. Remember the Super Bowl Journal Bruce published online? Springsteen himself narrates the film, sharing both his fears and his excitement as footage takes us from the first rehearsal in Jersey to a Tampa rehearsal in the pouring rain, from working with the gospel choir to working out the knee-slide with the cameraman, and onward. Zimny combines never-before-seen footage from the press conference, the rehearsals, the game, band meetings, in Bruce’s trailer backstage, and on the field with the E Street Band for the main event.
