Musicians of all genres have and will continue to draw inspiration from his music. We sat down with a number of up-and-coming artists to get their take on Bruce and how he has influenced them.

Der ehemalige NY Yankees Baseballstar Bernie Williams veröffentlicht am 14. April 2009 seine zweite CD „Moving Forward“. Auf der Scheibe findet man als Bonustrack eine Liveaufnahme von „Glory Days“ mit Bruce Springsteen und Patti Scialfa. Der Song wurde im November 2007 anlässlich einer Benefizveranstaltung aufgenommen.

Critically acclaimed guitarist/songwriter and famed NY Yankees star BERNIE WILLIAMS has signed a recording contract with REFORM RECORDS for his sophomore album MOVING FORWARD – set for release on April 14. The Puerto Rico native and five-time All Star is a classically-trained musician who developed his love for playing guitar alongside baseball, while listening to salsa, merengue and 80’s rock. MOVING FORWARD embraces those early influences, while also reflecting a unique mixture of classical and jazz guitar topped-off with additional Latin rhythms. Auf Bruce Springsteens offzieller MySpace Seite wurde vor wenigen Tagen das offizielle Video zu „The Wrestler“ veröffentlicht. Der Song ist auf dem neuen Studioalbum „Working on a Dream“ zu finden.
Übrigens wird der Film ab dem 26. Februar 2009 auch in den deutschen Kinos zu sehen sein.

When a dude labels his anthology series „The Coolest Songs in the World” and backs up his audacious claim through seven solid volumes of garage-rock manna from heaven, his musical recommendations can be trusted implicitly. So, if Steven Van Zandt loves the Cocktail Slippers, you should, too.
The E Street Band guitarist and creator/host of „Little Steven’s Underground Garage” is so enamored of this all-girl Norwegian quintet that he signed the group to his Wicked Cool label in 2007 for their U.S. album debut, „Mastermind.” He even kicked in a few original songs, including the title cut on the Slippers’ latest, „St. Valentine’s Day Massacre.” On it, Van Zandt’s touch immediately is felt in the ’60s girl-group-influenced rhythm, keyboard and backing-vocal arrangement that also recalls the ’70s Runaways and ’80s Go-Go’s.

Springsteen contributes song to latest Odd Squad Production
Vancouver BC – Bruce Springsteen was the first of many artists who agreed to contribute to a benefit CD produced by Odd Squad Productions. Initially contacted in February of 2008, Springsteen contributed a song and a licensing agreement was signed on June 11th 2008. Odd Squad Productions have subsequently negotiated licensing agreements with several more socially conscious artists including The Barenaked Ladies, Colin James, Randy Bachman, Charlie Major, Barney Bentall, Jim Byrnes, 54:40, Paul Hyde and the New Odds.
This benefit CD entitled „Odd Squad & Company“ On the Beat, Volume II, follows on the success of the first CD, which was released in the fall of 2005. The production costs have been funded by a grant from the „Peter and Joanne Brown Foundation“. Funds raised will assist the Odd Squad Productions Society as they continue to produce award winning multi-media products that serve as effective social marketing tools for today’s youth.

BRISBANE, Australia — Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Andre Rieu, Midnight Oil and Delta Goodrem are among dozens of high-profile artists who have thrown their support behind fundraising efforts for victims of Australia’s destructive bushfires.
American superstars Springsteen and Joel along with Aussie acts Midnight Oil, Goodrem and John Farnham have donated songs for a CD, „Bushfire Aid — Artists for the Bushfire Appeal,“ which will hit the racks in local stores from early next week. Other artists also confirmed to feature on the compilation are Aussie acts Hoodoo Gurus, John Butler Trio, Wes Carr and Jessica Mauboy.
Proceeds from the sale of the CD will benefit the Salvation Army Bushfire Appeal through the charitable arm of the Australian Sony Group of Companies, the Sony Foundation. Quelle
