Die E Street Band kommt nicht nur Ruhe.
Nach dem gestrigen Konzertspektakel im „Stade de France“ (wir berichteten hier) wird die E Street Band heute (30. Juni 2013) einer der Headliner des „Hard Rock Calling Festivals“ in der englischen Hauptstadt sein.

Das „Hard Rock Calling“ wird seit 2006 veranstaltet. Wegen der Lärmbelästigung musste das zweitägige Festival in diesem Jahr erstmals vom Hyde Park in den „Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park“ im Londoner Stadtteil Stratford umziehen.

Bereits gestern gaben sich angesagte Künstler und Bands, wie Kasabian, Paul Weller, Miles Kane, Twin Atlantic, Kodaline, Lower Than Atlantis und The Weeks auf der „Main Stage“ die Klinke in die Hand.
Heute werden neben Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band auch The Carnabys, Deaf Havana, Zac Brown Band, Alabama Shakes und The Black Crowes auftreten. Das Bruce Springsteen Konzert beginnt gegen 19.10 Uhr und wird spätestens um 23.00 Uhr enden.

London Calling – Live in Hyde Park

Der „Boss“ trat bereits am 28. Juni 2009 beim „Hard Rock Calling 2009“ sowie am 14. Juli 2012 beim „Hard Rock Calling 2012“ in London auf. Die erste Show wurde mitgefilmt und am 18. Juni 2010 unter dem Titel „Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band – London Calling: Live in Hyde Park“ auf DVD und BluRay veröffentlicht.

Bruce Springsteen begrüsste die knapp 80.000 Fans im „Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park“ um 19.13 Uhr und begann die 117. Show der „Wrecking Ball World Tour“ mit dem Song „Shackled & Drawn“. Danach folgen mit „Prove It All Night“, „Johnny 99“ und „Reason to Believe“ einige selten gespielte Klassiker. Wie bereits gestern in Paris, begeisterte Springsteen die Festivalbesucher erneut mit dem „Born in the USA“ Album. Bei „Dancing in the Dark“ holte er seine Mutter Adele (88) und Schwester Pamela (51) auf die Bühne. Als Zugabe zauberte die E Street Band „Jungleland“ und „American Land“ aus dem Hut.

Das von den Stararchitekten Macary-Zubléna-Regembal-Costantini entworfene „Stade de France“ in der französischen Hauptstadt Paris wurde 1998 eröffnet. Das Nationalstadion ist mit einer Kapazität von 82.000 Zuschauern das mit Abstand grösste Stadion des Landes.
Neben Fussball – die französische Nationalmannschaft trägt regelmässig Spiele im Stade de France aus – sind in der Arena auch Rugbypartien und grosse Konzerte zu sehen. Unter anderem stellte die aus Irland stammende Rockband U2 am 11. und 12. Juli 2009 einen Rekord auf. Damals kamen jeweils 93.000 Fans zu den Shows.

Für das Konzert am 29. Juni 2013 wurden laut Veranstalter 60.000 Eintrittskarten abgesetzt. Der „Boss“ gastierte am 24. Mai 2003 im Rahmen der „The Rising Tour“ schon einmal im Stade de France.

Bruce Springsteen stürmte kurz vor 18.00 Uhr die Bühne und erfreute die Fans mit einer kurzen Pre-Show. Neben „This Hard Land“ und dem Elvis Presley Klassiker „Burning Love“ wurde auch „Growin‘ Up“ gespielt.
Das „Hauptkonzert“ begann um 19.42 Uhr mit „Badlands“, „Out in the Street“ und dem Little Richard Cover „Lucille“. Das absolute Highlight waren jedoch alle Songs des siebten Bruce Springsteen Studioalbums „Born in the USA“.
Zum Ende des Konzerts begrüsste der 63jährige bei „Born to Run“ seinen langjährigen Freund Elliot Murphy.

Bruce Springsteen ist zurück in Spanien.
Der „Boss“ wird heute Abend in Gijon auftreten und das einzige Konzert auf der iberische Halbinsel im Jahre 2013 spielen.

Gijon ist eine Hafenstadt in Asturien und zugleich wirtschaftliches Zentrum dieser Region. In der knapp 300.000 Einwohner zählenden Gemeinde überwiegt vor allem die Schwerindustrie mit Hüttenwerken, Werften und Maschinenbau. Gijon ist aber auch für seine Sehenswürdigkeiten bekannt. Unter anderem findet man im Stadtzentrum das im 16. Jahrhundert erbaute Palacio de los Valdés, in dessen Kellern Reste römischer Thermen gefunden wurden. Darüber hinaus ist die aus der Franco-Zeit stammende Universidad Laboral für seine Kunstausstellungen weltberühmt.

Das Estadio Municipal El Molinón ist ein Fussballstadion am Stadtrand von Gijon. Die im Jahre 1908 eröffnete Arena fasst 30.000 Zuschauer und steht dem Primera División Fussballverein Real Sporting de Gijón als Heimspielstätte zur Verfügung. Bruce Springsteen trat in Gijon bisher zweimal auf. Am 7. Mai 1993 macht er im Rahmen seiner „World Tour 1993“ im Estadio Municipal El Molinón Station. Ausserdem war der 63jährige auch am 15. Mai 2003 (The Rising Tour) hier zu Gast.

Die Musiker trafen am Montag (24. Juni 2013) in San Sebastian ein. Mit dabei war die komplette Familie Springsteen sowie Bruces Mutter Adele (einen Bericht mit Foto findet man hier). Nach Shoppingausflügen und einem ausgedehnten Stadtbummel am Dienstag, verabschiedete sich Bruce Springsteen am heutigen Morgen nach Gijon

Das 115. Konzert der „Wrecking Ball Tour 2012 / 2013“ begann um 21.33 Uhr mit „My Love Will Not Let You Down“. Im weiteren Verlauf wurden mit „Ain’t Good Enough For You“ (veröffentlicht auf „The Promise“, 2010), „Better Days“ („Lucky Town“, 1992) und „You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)“ („The River“, 1980) etliche selten gespielte Songs vorgetragen. Ferner feierte der John Fogerty Coversong „Travelin‘ Band“ seine Tourpremiere.

Das Rolling Stone Magazin berichtet, dass Bruce Springsteen an einem neuen Studioalbum arbeitet.

Vor dem Mailand Konzert am 7. Juni 2013 (wir berichteten hier) soll Bruce Springsteen einem Redakteur des Musikmagazins bestätigt haben, dass er genügend Material für ein neues Album gesammelt hat.

Angeblich soll am neuen Projekt der aus New York City stammende Gitarrist Tom Morello mitwirken. Morello hat während der „Wrecking Ball World Tour 2012 / 2013“ mehrmals mit der E Street Band zusammengespielt und auch während der Australientour Little Steven van Zandt ersetzt.

Der „Goffertpark“ in der niederländischen Stadt Nijmegen ist eine grosse Volksparkanlage und Outdoor Konzertarena. Das Areal wurde 1939 eröffnet und fasst bis zu 60.000 Besucher.

Bruce Springsteen wird heute Abend gegen 19.30 Uhr im Goffertpark auftreten. Vorher dürfen sich die Konzertbesucher über die aus Atlanta, GA stammende Southern Rock Formation „The Black Crowes“ und den englischen Singer/Songwriter Jamie N Commons freuen.

The last two times The Boss visited The Netherlands was on Pinkpop Festival. But in the summer of 2013, Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will give an open air concert at Goffertpark Nijmegen! True artist and living legend Bruce Springsteen always guarantees a dazzling live performance.

Bruce Springsteen released over 20 albums and tons of hits, with and without the E Street Band. On his last album ‘Wrecking Ball’ and single We Take Care of Our Own Bruce again shows his social engagement.

The Wrecking Ball Tour will be the first tour without the in 2011 deceased Clarence Clemons: For the first E Street Band tour without the Big Man, the band will be augmented by a five-piece horn section, including C’s nephew Jake Clemons and Eddie Manion on saxophones.

The Black Crowes
The blues-oriented rock band The Black Crowes from Atlanta is founded by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson. As teenagers, the two performed by the name of Mr. Crowes Garden. They quickly built a reputation in various clubs around America and changed the name of the band in The Black Crowes. The members changed quite often, but the band never lost his charm. Songs like Remedy, She Talks to Angels and Hard to Handle still make the hearts of rock fans beat faster. The Black Crowes will be on stage with the Boss on June 22, with a strong dose of southern rock music.

Jamie N Commons
An old soul, captured in a young body. A 23-year-old singer with an outstanding, spectacular rasping voice. Last year, Jamie N Commons made a great impression with his raw American blues debut EP ‘The Baron’. With the singles The Preacher and Devil In Me, he easily won over the crowds at festivals like Eurosonic, Motel Mozaïque and Lowlands. His talent didn’t stay unnoticed by Bruce Springsteen. ‘The Boss’ even decided to take Jamie N Commons, just like the Black Crowes, with him for a show at Goffertpark the 22nd of June.

Am frühen Nachmittag probte Bruce Springsteen gemeinsam mit der E Street Band den Song „Seeds“ (veröffentlicht auf „Live 1975 – 1985“ im Jahre 1986). Danach folgten die Auftritte von Jamie N Commons und The Black Crowes. Die „Krähen“ spielten ein famoses Set und sorgten unter den 50.000 Festivalbesuchern für beste Stimmung.

Das Hauptkonzert begann pünktlich um 19.35 Uhr mit „The Ghost of Tom Joad“, „Land of Hope and Dreams“ und „My Love Will Not Let You Down“. Auch während der 114. Show der „Wrecking Ball World Tour 2012 / 2013“ wurde Bruce Springsteens viertes Studioalbum „Darkness on the Edge of Town“ komplett gespielt. Ausserdem stimmte die E Street Band „So Young and in Love“ an. Der Song wurde 1974 komponiert und 24 Jahre später auf „Tracks“ released. „So Young and in Love“ wurde während dieser Tour erst einmal – am 03.04.2012 im Izod Center, East Rutherford, NJ – gespielt.
