Bruce Springsteen und Patti Scialfa haben zu Rebecca Millers neuer Komödie „She Came to Me“ einen Song beigesteuert.

Der abendfüllende Spielfilm der aus Connecticut stammenden Filmemacherin Rebecca Miller (61) erzählt die Geschichte des Komponisten Steven (gespielt von Peter Dinklage), der mit seiner früheren Therapeutin Patricia (Anne Hathaway) verheiratet ist. Im Laufe des Films verfällt Steven in eine Lebenskrise und leidet unter einer kreativen Blockade, die es ihm unmöglich macht, die Partitur für seine Oper fertigzustellen. Daraufhin rät ihm Patricia, sich auf die Suche nach neuen Inspirationen zu begeben …

„She Came to Me“ feierte seine Weltpremiere am 16. Februar 2023 auf der 73. Berlinale. In den amerikanischen Kinos lief der Film offiziell am 15. September 2023 an.

Bruce Springsteen veröffentlichte am 14. Juni 2019 mit “Western Stars” sein 19. Studioalbum. Die erste Studioveröffentlichung seit 5 Jahren beinhaltet 13 Songs und ist vom südkalifornischen Pop der 1960er und 1970er inspiriert.

Da das Album nicht betourt wird, entschloss sich der Künstler, gemeinsam mit Regisseur Thom Zimny einen Konzertfilm zu produzieren. In einem Interview mit dem englischsprachigen Magazin “Variety” sagte Bruce Springsteen, dass der Film hauptsächlich aus einem Live-Konzert bestehen wird. “Ich wusste, dass wir nicht auf Tour gehen würden, also dachte ich mir, dass der Film die beste Art sei, damit umzugehen“, wird der 70jährige Sänger weiter zitiert.

Die 83minütige Produktion feierte beim “Toronto International Film Festival 2019” am 12. September 2019 seine Weltpremiere. Der offizielle Kinostart wurde auf den 25. Oktober 2019 gelegt. Zeitgleich mit dem Kinostart kommt auch der offizielle Soundtrack in den Handel. Die Filmmusik enthält Live-Versionen der 13 Songs des Albums sowie ein Cover von Glenn Campbells „Rhinestone Cowboy“.

Columbia Records will release ‘Western Stars – Songs From The Film’ on October 25th, featuring each of the live performances captured in Bruce Springsteen’s directorial debut ‘Western Stars.’ The soundtrack includes every song from Springsteen’s most recent studio album of the same name, as well as a cover of Glen Campbell’s “Rhinestone Cowboy.”

‘Western Stars – Songs From The Film’ pulls the audio from the film co-directed by Bruce Springsteen and longtime collaborator Thom Zimny. Springsteen and Ron Aniello produced the soundtrack, and its audio was mixed by Bob Clearmountain and mastered by Bob Ludwig, the same legendary duo behind ‘Springsteen on Broadway.’ Pre-orders for the album begin Friday, September 27th here.

The ‘Western Stars’ film is a cinematic retelling of Springsteen’s first studio album in five years, as he plays the album backed by a band and full orchestra at Stone Hill Farm in Colts Neck, NJ. The film premiered at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival and is written and performed by Bruce Springsteen, with special guest Patti Scialfa. Zimny, Jon Landau, Barbara Carr, and George Travis produced the film, with Springsteen serving as executive producer. The original score is by Springsteen.

The ‘Western Stars’ album has become a global success by nearly every measure, reaching #1 on charts in every continent on earth and hailed by critics as some of the finest music of his career. The album also placed Springsteen alongside David Bowie and the Rolling Stones one of the Top 5 acts with the most #1 UK albums.

„I’ll Stand By You Always“ stammt aus den späten 1990er Jahren.

Nachdem Bruce Springsteen seinem ältesten Sohn Evan Geschichten aus den Harry Potter Büchern vorgelesen hatte, komponierte er die Melodie und schrieb dazu den Text.

Darüber hinaus wurde das Lied dem amerikanischen Filmproduzenten und Regisseur Chris Columbus angeboten, der mit der Aufgabe betraut war, das erste Harry Potter Buch „Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone“ (auf deutsch: Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen“) zu verfilmen. Die Filmgesellschaft „Warner Bros.“ lehnte jedoch ab, da die Harry Potter Autorin J. K. Rowling darauf bestand, keine kommerziellen Lieder in der Verfilmung zu verwenden.

„I’ll Stand By You“ schaffte es nun doch auf die grosse Leinwand. Die Komposition ist Teil des Soundtracks zur englischen Tragikomödie „Blinded By The Light“.

Inhalt:

Javed ist ein 16jähriger Muslim, der in den 1980er Jahren im von Margaret Thatcher regierten England aufwächst. Gegen den Willen seines arbeitslosen Vaters möchte er Schriftsteller werden. Als ihn ein Freund ein paar Bruce Springsteen Kassetten leiht, verändert sich sein Leben und er findet durch Bruce Springsteens Musik eine Möglichkeit, sich auszudrücken und seinem grossen Traum etwas näher zu kommen.

Blinded By The Light – Soundtrack Album

Der Film basiert auf den Memoiren “Greetings from Bury Park” des Journalisten und Schriftstellers Sarfraz Manzoor aus dem Jahr 2007. Regie führte die britische Filmregisseurin Gurinder Chadha, die bereits mit “Kick it like Beckham” (2002) sowie “Frontalknutschen” (2008) grosse Erfolge feiern konnte. „Blinded By The Light“ läuft am 22. August 2019 in den deutschen Kinos an.

Am 1. Oktober 2013 veröffentlichte der amerikanische Autor David Finkel seinen Erfolgsroman „Thank You For Your Service“. In seiner knapp 300 Seiten starken Erzählung gibt Finkel die Geschichte einiger amerikanischer Soldaten wieder, die aus dem Irak Krieg in ihre alten Leben zurückkehren und mit Posttraumatischen Belastungsstörungen zu kämpfen haben.

„Thank You For Your Service“ (Buch, David Finkel)

David Finkel wurde 2013 mit dem „New York Times Book Review Notable Books of the Year Award“, dem „Helen Bernstein Book Award“ sowie dem „Carla Furstenberg Cohen Literary Prize“ ausgezeichnet. Darüber hinaus wurde „Thank You For Your Service“ in die Liste der „NPR Best Books of the Year“ gewählt.

Der 45jährige Regisseur Jason Hall (bekannt als Drehbuchautor der Blockbuster „American Sniper“ und „Paranoia“) hat nun diesen Stoff auf die grosse Kinoleinwand gebracht. Die Romanumsetzung „Thank You for Your Service“ feierte am 15. Oktober 2017 anlässlich des „Heartland Film Festivals“ in Indianapolis, IN ihre Weltpremiere.

Für die Filmmusik konnte Universal Pictures unter anderem Bruce Springsteen gewinnen. Der „Boss“ steuerte den neuen Song „Freedom Cadence“ zum Abspann bei. Bruce Springsteen spielte „Freedom Cadence“ in seinem Studio in Colts Neck ein.

Am 13. Dezember ’09 feiert die TV-Dokumentation „The People Speak“ seine Weltpremiere auf dem „History Channel“. Der Film basiert auf dem Erfolgsbuch „The People Speak: American Voices, Some Famous, Some Little Know“ von Howard Zinn aus dem Jahre 2004.
Bruce Springsteen steuerte den Woody Guthrie Klassiker „This Land is Your Land“ bei. Ausserdem ist auf dem Soundtrack eine neueingespielte Acousticversion von „The Ghost of Tom Joad“ enthalten. Der ‚Boss‘ hat den Song vor Kurzem in seinem Studio eingespielt.
