Gestern – am 19. Mai 2024 – beendete die E Street Band ihre vier Shows umfassende Konzertreise durch Irland. In den „Croke Park“, der nordöstlich des Stadtzentrums von Dublin liegt, kamen knapp 80.000 Zuschauer, um ein Rock’n Foll Feuerwerk der Extraklasse mitzuerleben.

Der „Croke Park“ in der irischen Hauptstadt Dublin ist das Heimstadion der Sportorganisation „Gaelic Athletic Association“. Es ist das grösste Stadion in Irland und bietet ein Fassungsvermögen von 82.300 Zuschauern. Das Stadion wird für Gaelic Football, Hurling, Rugby und Camogie genutzt. Neben Sportveranstaltungen finden im „Croke Park“ auch grosse Konzerte statt.

Bruce Springsteen trat bereits 2016 während der „The River Tour“ zweimal im grössten Stadion Irlands auf. Vor mittlerweile 8 Jahren – am 27. Mai 2016 und 29. Mai 2016 – feierten die Bruce Springsteen Kompositionen „Back In Your Arms“, „Lost In The Flood“ sowie „Incident On 57th Street“ ihre Tourpremieren.

Auch gestern erfreute Bruce Springsteen die 70.000 Zuschauer mit einer Premiere. Die Show begann kurz nach 19 Uhr Ortszeit und der „Boss“ stimmte als siebten Song „Reason to Believe“ aus dem „Nebraska“ Studioalbum aus dem Jahre 1982 an. Erstmals wurde „Reason to Believe“ am 1. Juli 1984 im Rahmen der „Born in the USA Tour“ im „Civic Center“ in Saint Paul, MN Live vor Publikum performt.

Gestern am 16. Mai 2024 folgte das zweite von insgesamt drei Shows in Irland.

Bruce Springsteen und die E Street Band waren in Cork – der zweitgrössten Stadt des Landes – zu Gast. Kurz nach 19:00 Uhr Ortszeit startete die Show im „Páirc Uí Chaoimh“.

Das bis zu 50.000 Zuschauer fassende „Páirc Uí Chaoimh“ Stadion ist in Blackrock (County Cork) in Irland gelegen. Das Sportstadion wurde 1974 eröffnet und wird von diversen Rugby- und Fussball Mannschaften genutzt. Ferner finden in regelmässigen Abständen grosse Rock- und Pop Konzerte im „Páirc Uí Chaoimh“ statt.

Bruce Springsteen trat bereits am 18. Juli 2013 im „Páirc Uí Chaoimh“ auf. Vor mittlerweile 11 Jahren feierten der Troggs Klassiker „Wild Thing“ sowie die Eigenkompositionen „The Price You Pay“ sowie „Real World“ ihre Tourpremieren.

Am späten Nachmittag des 16. Mai 2024 probte die E Street Band mit „You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)“, „Darkness on the Edge of Town“, „Youngstown“ sowie „Frankie Fell in Love“ vier Songs, die im Rahmen dieser Tournee selten beziehungsweise noch nie live performt wurden.

Wegen eines Unwetters begann die 79. Show der „World Tour 2023 / 2024“ mit Verspätung. Standesgemäss packte Bruce Springsteen den „Creedence Clearwater Revival“ Klassiker „Who’ll Stop the Rain“ aus und sorgte für die erste Tourpremiere des Abends. Im weiteren Verlauf feierte ausserdem das Weihnachtslied „Santa Claus Is Comin‘ To Town“ seine Premiere. Nach knapp 3 Stunden endete das Konzert mit dem Pogues Hit „A Rainy Night in Soho“.

Der amerikanische Internetstreamingdienst „hulu“ und „The Walt Disney Company“ gaben gestern – am 14. Mai 2024 – bekannt, dass im Oktober 2024 die Dokumentation „Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band“ veröffentlicht wird.

Die Dokumentation bietet einen beispiellosen Einblick hinter die Kulissen der „Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band World Tour 2023 / 2024“. Der Film wurde von Springsteens langjährigem Begleiter und Mitarbeiter, dem Emmy®- und GRAMMY®-Preisträger Thom Zimny ​​(„Western Stars“, „The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash“, „Springsteen on Broadway“, „Willie Nelson & Family“, „Sly“), gedreht. Springsteen and The E Street Band offer the most in-depth look ever at the creation of their legendary live performances in the new documentary featuring unprecedented, behind-the-scenes access to their 2023-2024 world tour.

Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band opens a new door to Springsteen’s creative process for fans around the world, sharing fly-on-the-wall footage of band rehearsals and special moments backstage — as well as hearing from Springsteen himself.

These conversations follow Springsteen closely as he develops the story he wants to tell with this tour’s setlist — interspersed with rare archival clips of The E Street Band, underscoring themes of life, loss, mortality and community. The film begins with a one-of-a-kind look at the band’s preparation process, following them from their earliest rehearsals in Red Bank, New Jersey, to performances for tens-of-thousands across continents. SONY veröffentlicht zum 40jährigen Jubiläum des „Born in the USA“ Erfolgalbums aus dem Jahre 1984 eine kolorierte Vinyl-Ausgabe.

Bruce Springsteens siebtes Studioalbum „Born in the USA“ wird anlässlich seines 40jährigen Jubiläums auf farbigem Vinyl (transparent rot) wiederaufgelegt. Weitere besondere Features dieser Edition: Gatefold-Cover und ein exklusives Booklet mit Archivmaterial aus der Entstehungszeit des Albums, neuen Liner Notes von Erik Flannigan und einer vierfarbigen Lithografie.

Nach seinem Release am 4. Juni 1984 brach BORN IN THE U.S.A. alle Rekorde. Nicht nur, dass es gleich sieben Titel der Tracklist in die Top Ten der Charts schafften, was bis dahin keinem Künstler gelungen war. Auch die Verkaufszahlen waren mit (bis heute) 17 Millionen verkauften Einheiten ebenfalls spektakulär.

Sony Music will commemorate the 40th anniversary of Bruce Springsteen’s history-making Born In The U.S.A. on June 14, with a special-edition release featuring new colored vinyl and expanded packaging. Arriving via translucent red LP, this anniversary edition of Born In The U.S.A. will feature a gatefold sleeve and exclusive booklet with archival material from the era, new liner notes penned by Erik Flannigan and a four-color lithograph. Released on June 4, 1984 – Born In The U.S.A. had an unprecedented seven Top Ten singles on its tracklist, has sold approximately 25 million copies to date and captured the pop culture zeitgeist with once-in-a-generation impact. Springsteen and The E Street Band’s accompanying Born In The U.S.A. tour included 156 sold-out performances across the globe, while tracks like “Dancing In The Dark,” “No Surrender” and “Glory Days” remain staples of their live show to this day.
