Am 27. Juli 2013 stand der aus Dublin stammende Musiker Glen Hansard anlässlich eines Konzerts der „Wrecking Ball World Tour“ gemeinsam mit Bruce Springsteen im Nowlan Park (Kilkenny, Irland) auf der Bühne (wir berichteten hier). Glen Hansard unterstützte Bruce Springsteen bei „Drive All Night“.

Am 3. Dezember 2013 erschien die Glen Hansard EP „Drive All Night“. Auf dem fünf Songs umfassenden Studiowerk ist ein Cover des Bruce Springsteen Klassikers „Drive All Night“ aus dem Jahre 1980 zu finden.

Glen Hansard begann seine Karriere als Strassenmusiker in Dublin. Der begnadete Gitarrist und Sänger war Mitbegründer der irischen Indie Band „The Frames“ und versuchte sich auch als Schauspieler. Unter anderem wirkte er in den Musikfilmen „The Commitments“ (1991) und „Once“ (2006) mit.

Darüber hinaus machte er sich auch als Songwriter einen Namen. Er komponierte Lieder für die Erfolgsfilme „Die Tribute von Panem – The Hunger Games“ und „Can a Song Save Your Life?“

In diesem Jahr feiern die Musiker von „The Frames“ ihr 25jähriges Bandjubiläum. Glen Hansard, Rob Bochnik, Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Joe Doyle und Graham Hopkins veröffentlichen am 31. Juli 2015 ein neues Studioalbum.

„Longitude (An Introduction to the Frames)“ beinhaltet die grössten Erfolge der Band – darunter „People Get Ready“ und „Lay Me Down“ -, neu aufgenommene Versionen von „Revelate“ und „Fitzcarraldo“ sowie die brandneue Komposition „None But I“.

Glen Hansard über „Longitude“:

 „This is a collection of songs from throughout the twenty five years we’ve been a band.  We initially wanted to mark this anniversary with a sort of ‘Best of The Frames’.  We put together a few different versions, including a certain number of songs from each record and including more popular live and radio songs – but this felt forced and incongruous.
After many conversations amongst ourselves we decided it should simply be a collection of our favourite tunes, songs we would be happy to put on a mix-tape for a friend.   So, here it is, with no regard to what album is most or least represented.  It’s a short collection of tunes we are proud of, some in slightly different versions from the original recordings, and one new song.  This is not the sum of our career but maybe some of the songs where we felt we had broken through to a new place or gotten better as a band. We hope you like it….we hope you enjoy it.“

Während Bruce Springsteen und Patti Scialfa in Europa unterwegs sind, um Tochter Jessica bei diversen Springreitturnieren zu unterstützen, arbeitet Ron Aniello unter Hochdruck an einem neuen Studioalbum.

Gestern Abend – 20. Juni 2015 – veröffentlichte der aus Los Angeles, CA stammende Bassist und Toningenieur Raad Soudani folgende Twitter Nachricht:

Die Botschaft wurde jedoch nach wenigen Stunden gelöscht.

Ron Aniello arbeitete bisher für Jude Cole, Ian Hunter, Lifehouse, Shannon McNally, Loudermilk, Barenaked Ladies, Guster, Justin King, Candlebox, Jars of Clay, Vanessa Amorosi und Patti Scialfa. Ausserdem produzierte Ron Aniello das Debütalbum der „American Idol“ Gewinnerin Allison Iraheta im Jahre 2009. 2012 und 2014 war er ausserdem ausführender Produzent der Bruce Springsteen Erfolgsalben „Wrecking Ball“ und „High Hopes“.

Raad Soudani ist seit 2009 Mitglied der Metalcore Band „The Volumes“. Die Band veröffentlichte mit „Via“ (2011) und „No Sleep“ (2014) zwei Alben. Darüber hinaus ist Raad Soudani auch als Studioengeneer tätig.

Bruce Springsteen trat heute vor 3 Jahren zum zehnten Mal in seiner Karriere in Frankfurt auf.

Das erste Konzert in der Mainmetropole fand anlässlich der “The River” Tour am 14. April 1981 in der Festhalle statt.

Am 25. Mai 2012 gab sich der „Boss“ im Rahmen der „Wrecking Ball World Tour“ nach einer einwöchigen Pause (Bruce Springsteen nahm an der College Abschlussfeier seines Sohnes Evan James in Boston, MA teil – wir berichteten hier) in der Frankfurter Commerzbank Arena die Ehre.

Die Musiker der E Street Band präsentierten sich in bester Spiellaune und erfreuten die 41.000 Zuschauer während der 195minütigen Show mit den Tourpremieren “Summertime Blues”, “Cadillac Ranch” und “Sherry Darling”.

Darüber hinaus hörten die Fans in der ausverkauften Arena auch selten gespielte Songs wie “E Street Shuffle”, “Youngstown”,  “Johnny 99″ oder “Glory Days”.

Beim Soundcheck am frühen Nachmittag wurden übrigens “Trapped”, “Racing in the Street”, “E Street Shuffle” und “Downbound Train” geprobt.

Heute vor 3 Jahren – am 2. Mai 2012 – endete die „Wrecking Ball“ US Frühlingstour mit einer Show im “Prudential Center” in Newark, NJ.

Bruce Springsteen und die Musiker der E Street Band überraschten die knapp 20.000 Zuschauer mit den Tourpremieren “Bishop Danced”, “Hard to be a Saint in the City” und dem Coversong “The Weight”. Letztgenannte Komposition war dem am 19. April 2012 verstorbenen „The Band“ Drummer Levon Helm gewidmet.

WRECKING BALL EUROPA TOUR 2012:
Neun Tage später traf die E Street Band in Europa ein, um am 12. Mai 2012 eine Warm Up Show für Pressevertreter im „Olympic Stadium“, Sevilla (Spanien) zu spielen.

Natürlich führte die Europatour Bruce Springsteen auch nach Deutschland. Am 25. Mai, 27. Mai und 30. Mai 2012 war der „Boss“ in der Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt, im Rhein-Energie Stadion Köln sowie im altehrwürdigen Olympiastadion Berlin zu Gast.

Die „Wrecking Ball World Tour 2012/2013“ entwickelte sich zu einer der kommerziell erfolgreichsten Tourneen in Bruce Springsteens Karriere.

Bruce Springsteen bereiste während der 133 Konzerte umfassenden Tour Nord- und Südamerika, Europa sowie Ozeanien und durfte sich über 3,4 Millionen verkaufter Eintrittskarten freuen. Insgesamt spülte die Tournee 341 Millionen Dollar in die Kassen der Veranstalter.

Bruce Springsteen wurde im November 2012 neben Countrystar Kenny Chesney mit dem „Billboard Touring Award 2012“ bedacht.

Bruce Springsteen lernte Elliott Murphy in den frühen 1970er Jahren in New York kennen und schätzen.

Der „Boss“ erklärte sich im Jahre 1976 spontan bereit, beim vierten Elliott Murphy Studioalbum „Just a Story from America“ mitzuarbeiten. Ausserdem ist Bruce Springsteens Gitarrenspiel auch auf „Selling The Gold“ (1996) zu hören.

Seit Anfang der 1990er Jahre ist Elliott Murphy ein gern gesehener Gast bei diversen Bruce Springsteen Konzerten. Bisher begrüsste Springsteen den aus New York City stammenden Künstler sechszehn Mal auf der Bühne.

Unter anderem trat Elliott Murphy bei drei Shows der „Wrecking Ball World Tour 2012/2013“ im „Stadio Nereo Rocco“ in Triest (Italien), in der „Friends Arena“ in Solna (Schweden) und im „Stade de France“ in Paris auf.

Am 10. April 2015 erscheint das neue Elliott Murphy Studioalbum „Aquashow Deconstructed“. Vor mittlerweile 42 Jahren veröffentlichte Elliott Murphy sein Debütalbum „Aquashow“ und wurde von den Kritikern in den Himmel gelobt. Nun hat der 66jährige Künstler alle Kompositionen mit modernem Aufnahme Equipment neu eingespielt.
